That's a good idea, two sofas facing each other perpendicular to the view. For the proper size and placement, lay out painter's tape on the floor, or use cardboard boxes to proxy for furniture and see how it works moving around the room.

The sofas will be 'floating' in the room and use a nice big area rug to hold them and coffee table. The wall space is for storage, media, desks, shelves, etc.

9x12 or 10x14 depending on your furniture placement so do that first. Center the rug on the window. Sorry I'm too lazy to convert inches to feet please. Okay 7.5833 feet for the sofa...let me think...I would use the tape method but yes it should work at that size.

I just noticed you want this as a reading room too, so you could consider two comfy armchairs in place of one of the sofas and makes for good reading position with the two soft arms. Replace the coffee table with an uphostered ottoman.

I also was wondering about the reading room I find it so much nicer to sith ina chair when reading. I assume some bookshelves will be needed also . If the sofas will run perpedicular to the window then I would do the 81" so you have a decent walk space around the sofas If doing one sofa and 2 chairs then the 91 " facing the window and a chir on either side of the sofa but prependicular to the window > Once you have decided on the large piece install then we can help with other pieces .Good lighting is a must IMO for reading so once the seating is decided then we can help with the lighting

Leave 18" minimum to maneuver around seating- to get to and use bookcases on the far wall. You want about a foot or two of bare floor around perimeter of the rug.

I would want one couch and two extra-comfy chairs. Not everyone wants to sit on a couch to read.
