Paint color help!

last year

Our kitchen is in the final stages…hood goes up tomorrow and a new chandelier has been ordered. i need to pick out a paint color…preferably from Benjamin Moore. The kitchen is super open to the back family room which is SW Agreeable Grey and less open but connected to the moody dark living room in BM Blue Gaspe. I am thinking some shade of green maybe….

Please excuse the mess…grout happened today.

I would do a warmer white as a back backdrop for walls if you don’t like the white cabinets. This is too much color if you use one of the greens. Too much going on. A soft neutral would be better.

The backsplash is the focus. Match the color of the cabinets. Don't compete with the backsplash.

@dan1888 the cabinets are bright white and i don’t really like that at all for paint.

I'd save the webster green or similar for under the chair molding in the dining zone. the kitchen and other eye level walls can coordinate with that using a lighter shade of green.

here's your deeper shade for a section on dinette walls .... then note a lighter coordinating shade in the 2nd pic for the majority of the walls..i think is a better option . the hood and all the black/white will pop a little better w the lighter green.

The cabinet color can be matte on the walls. You can choose the same tone in a slightly darker version. The store techs can offer samples. I haven't seen the whole kitchen and how it integrates with the dining space. I'm guessing the tile is used under the cabinet on the left. The option I see is to tile the wall you're considering painting a dark color.

I think you have a very distinct vision for this room and should trust it. I really like that dark green that you have sampled on the wall, although I don't know what happens when you carry it all the way around the room. But it sounds like you embrace drama, color-wise, so it should be fine! Art and furniture brings it in check a bit. :)

With the colors you already have, Agreeable Gray and Blue Gaspe I think Webster green is too colorful and Carolina Gull to yellow green. I would go a bluer green gray. I am loving Sea Star,

If you want greener I might go with Greyhound, but nothing more yellow green than Greyhound.

Love Carolina Gull. It feels moody and relates to the shadowy feeling of the counters and the background grey of the tile. It is a winner and pulls your whole space together. Really nice with your floors too. Webster green pops too much with the white cabinets and competes with the backsplash.
