Wood flooring can be matched in this case a much better choice that what you have and for sure with Taj IMO the cabinets are so dated I would not be spending one dime on them and for not pro painting or a new counter .

When was your house built? That is probably how old those cabinets are. As Patricia says, I wouldn't put Taj on top of them, whether you paint them or not.

I should have mentioned…. All new custom shaker cabinets up to the ceiling. I will not be extending the wood. Have tried extremely numerous places, contractors, flooring experts and I cannot find a match, cannot sand down , nada. Will be doing tile floor. Someday I may rip out all current wood (glued down) but stuck with it for now

Yes, knowing you are getting new cabinets changes the scenario. :-) Unfortunately, not every slab of Taj Majal is the same, so you will need to do some sampling to determine which color is best for your cabinets. If the cabinetmaker prefers to use a particular brand, be sure to choose from that brand so you don't waste your time. Color matching between brands is not always successful, so best not to rely upon it. Kylie M. is a Canadian blogger who specializes in paint colors. Read this for her suggestions of colors to go with Taj. You have to get 2/3rds into the article to get to the colors.

This is not a decision to make in haste. Unless your cabinets are built and the maker is ready to paint right this minute you should have some time. Once you choose a color, ask for a sample door before letting them go ahead and paint everything. The level of gloss can change your perception of the color.

So Swiss coffee (basically off -white) cabinets, Taj Mahal countertops (beige) and a white porcelain floor? Wouldn't be my choice, there's no contrast, and trying to match all those neutrals is going to be very difficult. And then the end result is going to be boring.

If you go with swiss coffee cabinets and Taj, then use a darker backsplash and floor tile. You've 4 different materials to select, give it some contrast and interest.

I could not be a bigger fan of neutrals. I love warms whites and beiges. But, your ideas are falling flat. It is very hard to pick neutrals that go well together. It takes a lot of skill and time and you are rushing this. Can you pay .your cabinet maker a little extra to store the cabinets and hold off on painting for two weeks while you really pull this together?

Have you already purchased the floor? It feels so boring like an office park bathroom floor. Your wood floors are lovely, the Taj is very pretty, and then your floor tiles feel like a big nothing combined with them. I'd even consider having a totally different color wood floor instead the tiles you have chosen.

Is that tree trunk staying? What does your kitchen layout look like? What is the style of this room? Color should be a part of the style, not just arbitrary. What inspiration pics can you share with us? You are investing a lot in your new kitchen and should make it look special.

Agree with Diana. Or, if you're set on the floors, go with a darker, beige-y/taupe color for the cabinets that still works with your slab. Something like this, perhaps?
