Ceramic tile? I’m surprised that magic eraser was strong enough to scratch the tile. Try wiping one with straight ammonia and see if it helps.

I’m sorry, I couldn’t figure out how to correct my post…it’s porcelain tile, not ceramic. Not sure if that makes a difference? Ty!

Doesn’t matter. The glaze is essentially molten glass if it’s a quality tile. Saltillo tile or natural stone is a different story. Did you try wiping with full strength ammonia?

Magic Eraser is basically sandpaper. You removed the glaze, there is no fix.

Magic Erasers are melamine foam ... microscopic fibers that are abrasive, similarly hard as glass. They work like super-fine sandpaper and literally abrade the surface on which they're rubbed. Glossy finishes can be scratched or dulled.

I suspect as others have said, that there is no fix for it. Magic erasers are one of the worst things to try to clean with. They cause a lot of damage because, they are so abraisive.

Thanks everyone. I think I’ll try ammonia to see if that helps but am expecting no. They are definitely more abrasive than I expected and I didn’t use a lot of elbow grease. Lesson learned. Would you all suggest I don’t even use it on glass shower doors? I have hard water stains and thought I’d give it a try? I have hard water and it does a job on the shower glass even though I have that protective coating. Ty!

Ummm no? This is what was recommended by my glass installer and works great. No smell!

Definitely no, it will scratch the hell out of glass quicker and easier than the tile.
