Carpet Size-- which size to pick

Hello- So

I purchased furniture for my old office space, which had about 2 feet more space on both sides than my new one- so layout was not fantasic here- but this is what I was able to come up with. However, I want to put an area carpet down to balance off some of the yellow in the floor- and brighten up the space- I just need to decide on a size- thoughts on these:

This is a 6 x9

This is a 5x7 rug

This is a 6x8 (a very hard size to find)

- 5x7 Rug: A 5x7 rug is better for smaller spaces or if you’re aiming for a lighter, more open feel. However, it may look a little disconnected if it doesn’t extend under the furniture. It’s a good option if you want to add color without overwhelming the room.
- 6x8 Rug: If you can find this size, it might be a great compromise. It gives you some extra coverage without being as large as a 6x9, especially if the room feels tight.
A general rule of thumb is to have at least the front legs of your furniture resting on the rug to avoid a “floating” look. Is there a doorway or window in the space? Cannot tell from your plan.

Maybe that is not the best layout for your room. The lounge chair seems overly large for the space.

If you like what you can find in the 6x8, I think that looks best. Because the lounge chair is a bit oversized for the space (but probably works fine), I think the smaller size rug makes the chair look even larger in proportion to the room and desk. I don't know what the light rectangle is in the lower part of the room, but am wondering if a 6x9 rug would fit the space. It would then go fully under the chair and open up more choices in rugs, but not sure if it could work with whatever that lighter box is.

6 x 9 is common as dirt: ) will look better. The room will feel bigger. @ 1/2 inch to one foot?

I'll let the pros advise on the most desirable size, but don't let what's available ready made control your decision. Find a locally owned carpet/flooring store in your area and ask if they will bind carpet. Some stores require that you purchase the carpet from them, some will not. You can get the carpet you want in the size and shape you want.
