I have a Bosch - no problems though I had a little trouble getting used to the controls where you have to select the hob and then adjust the level. I have an induction range at a different house that isn't like that and I would have preferred separate controls but Bosch seemed to be the best option for me so I went with it. When I did my research earlier this year it seemed like the highest quality/reliabilty choice so surprised you're seeing something different.

We have a Bosch and love it. One warning with the frameless: the exposed glass edge is subject to damage from a slippery pot or similar. I haven't looked at a framed version, but there's a gap below the edge of the glass that's difficult to clean.

Thats good to know! i will opt for the trim then. I am just having a hard time finding a black trim vs. stainless steel. I would rather habe a satinless steel trim then pesky food debris though.

The reviews I read about Bosch wre on Home Depot’s website if I recall correctly. Either way, Bosch seems to be a great choice and many here agree. Those with Bosch, did you go with a complementary wall oven?

I am still considering Cafe Appliances because I do like the look of their appliances - however I dont know much about the quality other than they are owned by GE and my family has them with mo complaints (they have refrigerators and gas ranges).

My ca. 2015 Frigidaire Gallery is black, frameless, and still operating well. There is a small chip on a corner that occurred at some point.

This past year we replaced a 20 yo Wolf gas cooktop with a Bosch Benchmark (no trim) induction, and a Dacor wall oven with a Cafe. Enjoy them both.

I have Whirlpool, bought in 2014 and it is great! No problems at all, easy to clean, options, including "boost" feature which gets the water boiling in no time.

I also have the Whirlpool electric oven, again no problems.

Regarding Cafe...I have it and while I like it overall, I do occasionally have issues with the controls. You cannot easily change in small increments.

Before selecting a Bosch induction cooktop, read the user guide and make sure you'll be happy with the control design. There's a single control for the power level so, if you're cooking on more than one induction element, you must first select the element and then adjust the power level.

Note that the GE Profile PHP9036DTBB, Cafe CHP90361TBB, and Monogram ZHU36RDTBB are all basically the same so you can save some money with the Profile.

Prefer physical knobs? Consider the bargain-priced Frigidaire FPIC3677RF or FPIC3077RF.

We have had 36” Bosch Benchmark trimless induction cooktops in two kitchens. Both have been great. We had each installed on (as opposed to in) our soapstone counters - cleaning around the edges has been no problem. I am the cook in our family and I love induction for cooking, but I think my husband (who cleans up) loves it even more for how much easier it is to clean than any of the gas stoves we’d had over the years. He says it takes literally a quarter of the time.

Ikea appliances are actually really good quality and have a longer warranty period than appliances that cost 3x as much

Ikea has a 5 year appliance warranty. They started in the US with Whirlpool. The company that gave us the one year warranty. Ikea has dropped everything Whirlpool. Electrolux now supplies their appliances.

Our twelve-year old Thermador induction cooktop is made by Bosch. Used daily, it has not yet (knock on wood!) had any problems. It is frameless, which I wasn't sure I would like, but it's really not a problem. The glass sits 1/8" above the countertop, so a brush or vacuum can easily clear out any crumbs. The controls are similar to the ones I see on the Bosch website and we senior citizens did well with the learning curve. ;-)

We chose it over other brands because the largest hob is placed in the back. I have no desire to have to reach over a large skillet or boiling pot of water to stir something in a smaller hob behind it.
