TV and additional storage in apartment!

My fiance and I are moving into this apartment and are deciding if we can fit a TV in the bedroom. The problem is, there is not enough closet space for us without some time of additional storage. I’m assuming we will need an amoire because we need more hanging storage, but if we place it against the back wall, it would block the space for a TV I think? We’re also inheriting a dresser that we’ll definitely need for folded clothes. The bed will be against the wall next to the sliding door closet.

You don't mention the room dimensions, but wondering if the current closets are just a single row hanging set up, if there's height space to convert one or both to double row hanging?

Some bad design there......!? There is potential storage. You don't want to look a gift horse in the mouth, ( the dresser) but Ikea could give you both storage and a tv spot, No clue what you might be allowed to do....

It may be nice to have "en suite" to the bath, but in this case? Not so much. I'd take the door off, or close up the wall. You aren't going to bed with a guest present.

Opposite the bed, lots of configurations. Have them save the dresser for a future house.

    Butt together, add tv above

I agree a gift of furniture is not alwaays aa gift. As for wanting TV in there that would be way down the list for me in fact not on the list . I would do awall of reach in storage on that top wall and remove the closets you have . Then you can have a TV if you must . I love Pax from Ikea the storage is fabulous so any type of reach in like that would be a much better choice

We need more info. What size bed do you own? What size side tables? Is the dresser tall or low and wide?

There seems to be a nice recessed niche in the hallway on the other side of the wall from the foot of the tub. Can you add a wardrobe there? One of you will have to walk into the hall to get your hanging clothes. No big deal. I've lived almost exclusively in apartments and my husband always has a closet outside of our bedroom for his clothes. Not always possible to fit everything in the bedroom.

Depending on the size of tv you want you should be able to find an armoire, a chiffarobe or other piece of furniture that would accommodate a smaller size tv as well as provide storage area for clothing.

The TV we’re being gifted is 55”, the dresser is 41”x16”. It’s a rental so can’t really close up walls but we can just ignore the door to the bathroom. Not a fan of the door opening into the bedroom either. The room dimensions are on the floor plan

Can you use the 55" in the LR and get a smaller one for the BR?

    Yes that’s possible!

So is it that you do not want a tv in the bedroom? Then work that out with your partner.

Otherwise, just get an armoire for the tv and some of your hanging storage. Or some type of other furniture setup, that will serve this dual function. You could also consider using another closet outside of the bedroom for some of the clothes. And or put another closet/wardrobe in the LR or something.

Your best bet is to do Ikea in the bedroom. Use the dresser in the living room or dining area depending

Take that wall 13' , go online and for less than a grand, have a tidy bedroom.

with enough to storage for two.

A 55" inch tv is a DIAGONAL measurement. The actual width is probably 48"

Do tall, dresser in middle and tall again. You have 156" to play with

The tv goes over the dresser.

Talk to the landlord.......it is easy to see where you have opportunities with a little stud and drywall: ) the next renters will thank him as well.

The tiny little closet in the bedroom is nearly worthless...take the door off and shelve it., or you need room to open the door to it.

I just noticed @Kendrah mentioned possibly putting a closet/wardrobe piece in what looks like it might be a recessed niche area outside of the bathroom. That could also be a nice option.

You could just watch TV on your laptop in the bedroom, especially if you put the large one in the living room.

So for some reason they didn’t include that the niche is actually a bi fold door closer which we’ll need for coats and shoes. The laptop is an idea, but honestly would be pretty tedious to put away back at a desk in the living room to charge. We’d really both prefer to have a separate tv if possible

You are much more organized than I am if you have one place that you charge your laptop! I watch my laptop in bed all the time and charge it on any surface near my bed - night table, floor under the night table, next to the night table, under my bed, in my bed.

What size bed is going in there?

Hi, I love new beginnings - congratulations!
I’m not a real fan of tv in bedrooms but because you seem to have some nice spare room, how about a cozy theater?
In red all the storage area you could use, either ceiling-height or counter-height.
    Hope this helps!
