Speed Queen offers top loading laundry appliances, and recently introduced a black version. Here is a link to a set log these listed at AJ Madison so you can look at lots of specifications. (they are sold individually as well). They also offer a gas fuelled version of the dryer if you don’t have hook up for electric dryers.

My MIL had to replace an oven last week. The repairman who came to initially try and repair it is highly rated and has been used by neighbor's of ours; don't kill the messenger but he stated the two most problematic appliance brands in his experience are Samsung and LG.

Whatever you do, do not buy Samsung. Worst repair history of all major appliance brands!

In CR's tests, neither the TC5003WN nor the TR7003WN performed well enough to earn a "recommended" rating. Their only strength is their predicted reliability. The LG WT8405CB (matt black) performed much better and is even on sale at LG for $850 (on 12/9/2024).

If you are serious about washing in lukewarm water, by a Speed Queen. Waste lots of water, but get your laundry done in 30 minutes!

My SQ fills at tap temperature, and we have a WH dedicated to the LR and Kitchen, so it is set at a high enough temperature to make certain the water is hot and not luke warm. And I do like having my load done in a reasonable amount of time as I have better things to do than wait for a machine to finish.
