Landscaping is what you need now to go the next step This is always my fave inspiration for MCM landscaping .Gutters and downspouts are no decor items and best when they match the siding . I think new windows will be the next step but you are on your way .

Gutters are not a feature, they match the surface they are on. At some point paint the window sashes black- the brick moulding doesn’t add much. I would push the front door a little more- turquoise or lime. And then landscape.

No offense but your house looks more generic than mid-century modern although it does have potential to become that. It currently lacks the massing (somewhat) and detailing that you find in mid-century modern homes. Glad you removed the shutters. Those are definitely not a mid-centry modern element.

Gutters and downspouts are not a design or decor feature, leave them white so they blend in with the house. I agree to paint the front door a different color, and what you really need is landscaping. House looks nice now as it is.

You might like this concept with adding black for the fasica/gutters and door/window trim. A brighter front door as mentioned. Wood slats instead of latticework. Paint the porch ceiling a pale blue/gray. Black downlights.

You have a ranch but it's the details on the house that will describe the style. Can't have shutters and be MCM. Pick a style below and use those details to create the style of your home.

The house looks like a pre-fab or a mobile home. Nothing wrong with either, but it isn't a MCM.

Add decking and landscaping .

Paint the exterior all black; add decking and landscaping.

Close in the side porch for at least three season living.

Is the front door at the small concrete pad or up the porch stairs? Make it obvious via landscaping, walkway, house address numbers, lighting, potted plant. I like your changes so far. Agree with others, gutters and downspouts should blend into eaves and siding color. If going for updated MCM, replace the metal porch railing with a craftsman style wood railing and add craftsman details to the porch pillar.

Thank you Trace for taking time to draw that sketch out, I’m definitely going to be using some of those ideas soon, I’ve really been wanting to get rid of that latticework so the wood slats are for sure going to replace that!

This modern black pergola with wood baffles would look good scaled to fit along the facade, from the front door on the left to the end of the wall with two windows.

Very nice rendering by @simplynatural, and notice the slats on the side deck instead of the lattice gives the house more of a MCM vibe.

Borrowed @tracefloyd's good suggestion for the slats!

I suggest adding natural wood to under the eaves and underside of the porch ceiling. Continue the wood at the left side of the front door on the wall perpendicular to the front door. This detail will enhance the front door entrance.

Add horizontal slats for the railing. Paint the foundation the same color as the house. Keep the black trim and paint all the roof line black. See first image below.

Notice the concrete slabs at the landscaping and walkway.
