Master Bathroom

Hi we just purchased a home and I really don’t like the dark vanity and mirror or the grey tiles necessarily but it was what the builder chose. I really would like to make this space look more organic or maybe add some light green and gold hardware instead of the black but I can’t envision if that would look good or horrific lol I’ve also heard so many mixed opinions on mixing hardware. Is that a no go?! please help with any tips or advice!!! I’m open to any and all ideas!!

It’s a pretty bathroom just not personalized yet. What kind of shower glass was added? Frameless glass I hope! Does the cabinet have any handles? Can’t tell from pics. I think you can mix metals but I like staying with same & adding color with accessories. With the finishes you have you can use anything. I’d add a runner rug with a design & colors in front of vanity & take the color for towels from that. Looking at walls in reflection of mirror, looks like the short wall next to shower would be a perfect spot for shower towel hooks & I’d also add towel ring or hook for hand towels at each end of the mirror. Large colorful art over the towel bar at end of bathtub.

That's tough with such a stark contrast in cabinet color! I feel like the emptiness of the room adds even more to the look though. I'm thinking of how much a bathroom rug would help, maybe even the wood mats I've seen, and some live plants in here would make this feel so much more organic. As for mixing hardware, I wouldn't say I'm against it per se, but I'm not sure I'd love in in this space. They went all in on the nickel finishes, and I'm not sure about gold cabinet hardware with the light fixtures. The lighting is BRIGHT though, and also adding to the starkness. Obviously you want to see well in a bathroom, but I wonder if the cabinet will start to look better and a little softer as you pull the rest of the room together with accents (I'm assuming theres a blank wall space somewhere in the room that you could add some wall art with a more organic subject and a black frame maybe).

Thank you both for those ideas!! And yes, the glass on the shower is frameless, no handles on the vanity cabinets.

I'd add some colorful towels and bathmats and a plant or two. Then, reassess.

is this the same person posting about the kitchen, the word 'organic' seems to familar. Move in. buy a new mirror, replace the terrible builder lighting. get the towel the bath matts, the roman shade. live in this house.

I would change out the mirror to two mirrors in gold if you want gold fixtures. I would do all the fixtures gold as well as the pulls on the vanity and even the light fixture. I think it is be more glamourous. If you want organic maybe start with a nice wallpaper in the greens then choose your faucet etc colours.

I would begin by select a piece of wall art to use as inspiration to pull the rest of the room together.

If you want to spend money you could change the one mirror to two but it's not necessary.

I used this landscape for inspiration and selected colors from that to finish the room.
    Select something big and bold.

Changing hardware could be phase 2.
