What to do w/large living room wall

last year

I have a small size living room but one of the walls is big and very plain looking. I would say the 1 wall is about 20 ft high and about 15' in length. I have no idea what to do with it to make it look cozy and fit in with the rest of the house.
Your help would be so much appreciated!

I would put the chairs by the window and the couch away from the wall and could you use a floor lamp beside the TV question mark

I think the amount of large overstuffed style furniture is working against you in this small space too. This is one of those rooms that would honestly be better with one sofa and two chairs; not a large sofa, large loveseat, and large chair. Do you have a lot of people that you typically need to seat? If not, I would downsize. If you only have visitors a couple times a year on holidays, you can pull over some extra dining chairs if you all need to gather.

Once you've done that, you have room to place something next to the TV to help balance the room. I think the gallery wall idea above is a fun option, or would also consider placing a tree in the space next to the TV to help hold that wall space and distract from the unactractive vent. You could do a faux olive or fiddle leaf fig, but live would be a lovely addition if the light from the windows can support the right choice (I'm terrible at keeping plants alive so not the best person to give advice on live options lol).

Thanks so much for the comments so far! I should say that during the Christmas season, I move the blue chair away from the window and put the Christmas tree there . The second picture is what it normally looks like.

ff palms... I really love your suggestion about a tree to the left of the TV. I would like to get a real tree but I have a cat that would try to climb it and tear it up. I will look for a faux tree.

Sorry Melissa I meant to thank you for the suggestion about the tree and ffpalms for including a picture of the height of the TV according to size that is very helpful!

This is what I have implemented so far and I am still considering lowering the TV and adding some pictures... 🙂

Yes lowering the TV down to your items on the cabinet would work you could measure how far down you need to go with your items that are on top of the cabinet
