That couch is just fine unless you’re ready for a new one.

Just grab a new throw pillow or two.

I am a little tired of the fabric and the matching ottoman is stained which doesn’t show in pictures. Maybe I should just recover the ottoman in a different colour!

The couch decision might be easier after you get quotes..if in good condition maybe just add some velvet cushions that work with the redone ottoman and the rug.

I think some lovely art instead of the mirror would pull everything together and not feel as heavy.

Reupholstery is very expensive and honestly best done only on precious antigues IMO If the sofa is driving the bus get a new one .That will wil break the bank having redone. Do you still love the very formal feel ? Maybe be time for a bit of style change too. I would do red velvet pillows maybe bolsters right now if all stay.

I’ve actually had it redone twice. It’s an extremely well made sofa and has been worth it. My husband is stuck on it more than me. I think pops of colour are the way to go! Thanks

Do you mind disclosing how much the reupholstering was in comparison to the cost of a new sofa?

We had it done the last time about 9 years ago for $900

I had a bunch of stuff reupholstered in the last 2 years and the labor is a small part of the total cost. The majority of the cost is a good quality performance fabric, and those prices have gone through the roof since you reupholstered 9 years ago.

stick with a neutral fabric on the sofa……add some new pillows to pull the color you want…

That’s interesting because I have 2 chairs in the living room that are close to this colour. I’ve decided just to add cushion a to pull out some colour from the rugs.
