    H. clausa var. normalis is invariably the first hosta to break for me. This is one pot on March 15/22.

It's also a bit of a thug in the garden, it's rather rhizomatous in growth as you can see from the sprouts appearing out of 3 drainage holes in this pot.

It's a favourite of mine when it comes to flower colours...

    I'll find more...

    A few more...

    'Camelot'

    'Camelot'

This came to me as 'Cinnamon Sticks' in 2016 and ever since I received I've been questioning the ID. It's just so frickin' close to 'Red October' it's not even funny. Both of them originate with the same breeder: Arthur Wrede. From the pictures I've seen of both over the years CS has wider leaves than RO...

'Chinese Sunrise' which along with clausa is one of the earliest to break in spring and while it's fractionally behind clausa when it comes to breaking, it usually leafs out faster then clausa.

    'Chinese Sunrise'

    'Captain Kirk'

'Captain Kirk' being part of the hyacinthina family it's not too surprising to see sporting occurring.

This is what popped-up last year in the plant pictures above and it was duly separated but it didn't put on much of show this year...oh well...

Tell 'em to fork over the 100K! I could easily stay in the house for a week, especially in winter!

Pieter, that powdery blue leaf of Camelot is pretty.

'Camelot' is rated as the bluest one out there according to Mark Zilis. Another great blue is 'Bulletproof'.

Peren, your hostas look great, but I must say you are the most awesome Christmas Tree! Is it in the HL, because it should be!

Debra I have a pic on the HL but it is not Christmas Tree. My Gold Drop(s) are there under someone else's name, I contacted them a few years ago but.... Thank you for your most kind words! I love your Chartreuse Wiggles, that blue pot really sets it off!

Every time I see Cup of Grace, I think I've got to get one! Lovely Cup of Graces Debra, peren.all and Mike.

Old_dirt, I hope my new Cool as a Cucumber looks like yours one day. I tried it years ago and lost it. Also wonder if you and I are the only ones with Crazy for You! But I have no photo this year even though it did well.

Nicholsworth and Pieter, I like those phone jokes.
