I doubt it matters? The tv will be in lowered mode more often than not. Hardly gorgeous ?

ANY brand "smart tv" can become art from multiple sources including You Tube, and it doesn't require a frame tv to do that..

With "no panic" ( jmo )I think it is FAR past due that we realize fire and tv are competitive focal points. A fire can simply be in the room, part of the ambience...leaving a different wall for the gigantic tv to be what it is. To consider the seating as well. A gigantic tv to be enjoyed as is. There really is no need for a simultaneous view/both elements. and the time to contemplate that is at the start of the build, and it's framing plan- the tv is the REAL fire............: )and it's fine and way overdue to admit that fact.

I think when you come here with all the things planned and not ideal then we need to know the size of the FP fire box and IMO frame T.Vs fool no one and now you have to choose fire or TV I need to see the FP IMO the art or in this case the TV no bigger than the firebox . The need for a Frame TV is not a factor any TV can do that. IMO a TV is in the space no need to pretend it is not . To bring the TV down to proper viewing height would be very hard to do with a mantel. TV should be where the center of the screen is at eye level when you are seated pretty much not possible with any arm I have used .If this is anew build then IMO you are going about this all wrong .

Fireplace plays second fiddle to TV so if this is your primary TV viewing area, get the size that works best with the planned furniture layout so proper viewing distance can be considered.

Unfortunately one TV will look small and the other too big. The TV should have been picked first and then you could have designed and built a wide enough area above the fireplace.

Maybe do the smaller TV with a wider DecoTV frame.

Also for the Frame TV to look properly mounted on the wall, like a piece of "art", you will probably need to recess the mantel mount into the drywall.

Here is my 75" Frame TV with a 3" DecoTV frame. I didn't plan for the width of the frame or I would have designed a bit more space around the TV. I couldn't find a narrower frame in a similar design/color.

The TV has to be in proportion to the scale of the fireplace. The TV will always be too small if the sofa is 12 feet away from the TV.

Helpful, thank you! Judging by that chart 65 inch seems to be preferred . I’m guessing like above mentioned one will either look too small or the other too big . Think I may lean towards big since we like sports and worst case can move to another room eventually

We could draw the TV into the photo if you posted an image of the fireplace wall. You might only be able to accommodate a 42" TV depending on the mantle size if there is one.
