Did you mean to say that the picture shows a Queen size bed? It looks like a King would fit on the wall opposite the window. Do you have the dimensions of the room?

Yes meant to say a queen. The other wall is about 102”. So could fit a king but would be awkward don’t you think on that wall where the door is?

It’s hard to say if it would be awkward without all the dimensions. There may be too little space for nightstands, but that might be remedied by using small wall mounted nightstands with wall mounted sconces above.

Sconces don’t have to be hard wired. You can use light bulbs that are turned off/on with a remote.

I’d like to understand the whole rooms dimensions. If the bed could fit on the long wall you may be able to have a dresser between the brick columns with art or a mirror above it. But hard to say without more info.

The feng shui way is to place the bed on the opposite side of the doorway. Maybe something like this can work for you...

If the space is there you can place the bed under the windows or on the opposite wall. You didn't bother to provide any dimensions so we're all just guessing.

You need to send the measurements of all four walls. The recommendations have been to move the bed off the wall you’re presently using, and switch to the window wall or opposite. What size are THOSE walls and windows?

Danielle, you have supplied the measurements of the area that cannot support a king bed. Do better.

It's better to get rid of the alcoves both side.

Make it a plain wall.

The niche could be treated with night stands.

The niche can be treated with few wall mounted shelves or wall hangs.

I have recently turned both my king sized beds with the top & bottom functioning as the sides of the beds, and the sides used for the top and bottom. I thought that they would appear too short, but we love the way they look and have not noticed the shorter length in the way they function. My husband is 5ft 10 and I am 5 ft 6. Neither of us has noticed that the shorter length is a problem and we both love the look of a bed that is even wider than the normal king. Both rooms have plenty of room for king beds, but the extra width is even more inviting and the rooms look even more spacious.

I would think the bed can go at the alcove, thinking outside the box here, but a small shelf on side walls both sides for nightstands and wall sconces above for bedside lighting, art in the alcoves. Paint the brick the wall color or accent color or leave them bare brick.

Or really beautiful pendants in the alcoves. Depending on if you want to add electric or use battery operated. Could make a beautiful visual on that end of the room.

Or cover alcoves with wall shelves with an enclosed back to cover the brick, but the brick is quite unique IMO

I'd leave the alcoves, put the bed between them and get a headboard with an arch. The arch will echo the alcove arches and if you get a tall-ish, steep-ish arched headboard, the overlap with the alcoves will be limited to the lower part of the alcoves.

I though @Sigrid might be on to something with her idea of a headboard with an arch so this is what I show below (bed 80" W + 24" W for each nightstand). The headboard would exceed the centre wall by just a few inches on each side.
