Great work! Love the use of the lighter wood. Also, the choice to redesign the cabinets to reduce the look of clutter from the open shelving.

May I suggest painting the base below the cabinets in the same color as the cabinets? It will look perfect that way.

Glad you make it work for you. What do I think? Give me practical closed storage any day. I don't understand the obsession with beverage areas. Where has everyone else been making cups of coffee and pouring glasses of wine for the last 50 years? Beverage centers seem like a solution without a problem.
