There are so many wonderful options, maybe you can share what else you have in the room that might help generate some solutions. What colors, furniture styles, function of the space,... Is this a hallway, part of a kitchen or great room?

IMO art first choice always but yes we need to see the whole room

The proportions of that entire wall are important and the room’s style come into play, so difficult to be very helpful. Given the more traditional mantle and its finish above, consider them both and the height. There are endless on line inspiration pictures that may help.

Clock/art/mirror. Those are your go tos. What does the fireplace face? Worth doubling with a mirror? My mantle changes with the seasons so the idea of one static set up makes me hit the snooze button. We need more information about you, the room, what YOU are all about.

Is the wall shiplap? Looks to be. That is an unusual material for indoor use. Can't decide if I like it or not.

If you keep the shiplap, first thing I would do is repaint with a NONglossy paint. When I first saw it I thought it was a louvered window blind or a rollup cabinet door.

Thanks for the suggestions, it isn’t ship lap, more tongue and groove. It’s in an eggshell finish I just had the overhead light in the picture. What do yall think of painting the whole thing black?

No black and honestly a piece of art the bigger the better and that is it . You have plenty going on on that TV wall and one accent wall per space .The big piece of art will hide most of the too much T&G

No to painting black. Have you tried the macrame art that you have over the tv, over the fireplace? Wondering if it would fit? I say this because nothing is really needed over the tv and that macrame art will bring the colors of the room together when placed over the fireplace. I see that you absolutely love your plants and that is a personal matter, so either trim or leave.

you've got a nice big room, could use some more seating. utilize the fireplace as a focal point as well. Swivel chairs I would pull the sofa closer in and add a sofa table to the back side... Lots of options.
