Will this be a thing?

last year

I drove by a holiday decoration I have not seen before and think it could be charming in the right application. On the way back I pulled over to grab a snapshot. Is this already a thing?

    That is very pretty.

What a great idea for the darkness of winter when everything looks so bleak after the Christmas lights come down. It looks very inviting!

For Christmas I am all about colored lights. I do love me some white bulbs for the rest of the nights. I enjoy seeing the darkness vanquished a bit. This is not a new way to hang rope lights..it's a curtain. Bet it's for a pool house originally.

I like the idea. It looks very cozy and inviting.

Very clever. I'm not sure I like it for the front door, though. It could look interesting inside a large window around a Christmas tree.

My daughter-in-law did just that last year before all our December birthday celebrations and left it up all year! It’s absolutely the most beautiful thing ever! They don’t keep it lit all the time but it’s always lit for parties and guests. I don’t know if her lights can change colors or if she has colored and white lights strips, but they were white for our birthdays and colored for Christmas. and their house is on a corner so very visible. I love it!

Haven't seen that before. Brings back memories of the beaded curtains from the 70s that were placed in indoor cased openings!

    Chispa, right?! Fun!

Ive never seen that. Its pretty to see but maybe impractical for a door you use a lot. I can see the mailman accidently walking through it. It would be pretty on a window.

Cute on that doorway, but how is it going to look with those (IMO) disgusting soffit lights?

Are soffit lights the recessed or flush downlights in the soffit? I like those. But not the spotlight type things. I don’t even like sconces or pendants outside. I want to see the house, not the lights themselves. Except for holiday lights! I love seeing those!

I've seen a set of lights like that hanging from the roof of a patio. There are so many unusual lighting sets out there now. Some homes near me have their trees wrapped and can change the color based on the season. I'm a white light person but what I see always looks so pretty.
