Wall decor above a off center couch

My husband and I recently moved into our new build. We have a big family so a large sectional was a must. Im a person who loves and needs symmetry in my home. The fact that the sectional is off center on our wall is throwing me off for wall decor. I dont want to do a wall gallery of mismatch sized picture frames. I was thinking of a large piece of art with wall scones on either side. But if I center it with the couch it won't look right. Im not married to the end table or shelf in the corner and Im open to something new there. The colors in my livingroom are taupe, light grey and browns. Where the Christmas tree is there is usually a brown leather accent chair and end table. Any suggestions for the large wall the couch is on?

Is there room to pull the sectional out a bit from the wall and float it in the room? any plans for a rug?

if it were me, I would float the sectional a bit, move the tall shelf to another wall and center a large piece like this on the wall

I agree with @la_la Girl but I’d move the couch more than a bit. Try centering it on FP pushing closer to FP. Move that shelf unit behind couch - try next to the light switch or even somewhere on the christmas tree wall if there’s room when the chair & end table is put back. Don’t scrunch it in the corner by either window. Hang large art on the long wall centered between doorway & corner of room (where shelf is now). No sconces - no need. Use lamps for layered lighting. The one by chair & maybe a floor lamp behind sofa at corner. A coffee table or big round leather ottoman in front of sofa would be great.

Once you complete furnishing the room you'll find that everything will be balanced.

    What I illustrate below:

    - I moved the sectional slightly forward to place a sofa table behind the sofa

    - Lamp and decor on the sofa table

    - Area rug (that sits under all the front legs of the sectional

    - End table with matching table lamp

    - Tall plant in the corner

    - Large canvas on the wall with coordinated accent pillows (you can choose art that you like and coordinate pillows to that)

    - I've also placed 3 poufs under the sofa table for extra seating

Move the sectional down, skip the side table when placing chair back, add a coffee table if feasible, remove the corner shelving, replace the small scaled table/lamp with something larger to balance the corner, suggest a rug/cushions that are complementary, and art to pull everything together.

It's difficult to fit sectionals into most rooms. It's much easier to have 2 conventional sofas that should be large enough to accommodate a large family especially if you include some comfy chairs in the layout.

Thank you so much for all of the suggestions! I can move the couch away from the wall a few inches but cant center it with the fire place because then the couch will block off the walkway into the living room. I did order a area rug that I will put down once it arrives. I love the idea of pushing it closer to the fire place and having a sofa table behind the couch. I will try that and remove the corner shelf and add a tall plant over there. Any other suggestions are welcome!

Thank you so much for all of the suggestions! Unfortunately I cant center the couch with the fire place because it will cut off the walkway into the livingroom. I will push the couch closer to the fireplace and move it off the wall a few inches. I'm going to add a sofa table, remove the shelf in the corner and add a tall plant. I also ordered a area rug that will arrive soon. Any other suggestions are welcome!
