Change home exterior

We have a somewhat Spanish style exterior. I’d like to push it more Spanish/Mediterranean. I recognize I’m missing many elements of this style but thinking about trying by changing roof and body color. We’re having to replace our clay tile roof due to hurricane damage. Thinking of moving away from peach/orange and shifting to more dark brown tile and changing house color to white (see last pic for my inspiration). Also painting window trim, garage, soffits etc. dark brown. Do you think I can achieve this look or stay with what I have?

I like the cream better than your beige and white. I think that color scheme would be good. If you want your pie plates and columns to be highlighted with different paint, as you have at present, I'd make it only subtlely different, not the major contrast you have now.

I like the roof color you have right now, but, I would prefer the house to be a cream color too.

1000% yes. Your house can totally pull off the look in the inspo picture. Look at Manchester Tan for the body - don't judge the chip. You have to test it outside to understand how white it actually shows up.

Thank you all so much for your input. The current body color is tan (BM Fairway Oaks) with cream color trim (BM Floral White). I’d like to do something like SW Extra White for the body (inspo pic) or maybe Swiss Coffee and SW Caviar for trim, garage door, soffits. And yes, good idea to make columns and quatrefoil a slightly darker white so they are highlighted.

I'm in Phoenix. I never specify an actual white for exterior because sunlight strips chromaticity. A white, like Extra White, shows up visually sharp, bright and stark. Colors like Pale Oak, Greek Villa, and Manchester Tan actually show up looking like what most people anticipate Extra White or Swiss Coffee would look like.

    Test carefully.

I live in Florida so will definitely test the colors you’ve suggested. Thank you so much for your help.

I’m assuming you are in Florida based on the hurricane damage. You need to be careful with whites because the sun can make them look really stark. I painted my house with SW Shoji White and loved the way it turned out. Try getting some Samplize sheets and take them out in the sun. You’ll be amazed at how they look in the sunshine as opposed to online or even inside your house.

Clay tile is not Concrete tile. They are very different. One is quite a bit more expensive than the other.

Make sure you do your homework.

I'm sorry to hear the roof has damage. That's often NOT the tiles, but the plywood supporting the tiles. Make sure you spend the extra money to have the waterproofing over the plywood NOT be just roofing paper and tar. Spend the money for the peel and stick reflective sheeting.

I have a concrete barrel tile roof in Florida and have been down this rood before. I replaced my roof in 2007 and now it's twice the price to replace it as it was then.

These are imported clay tiles and the total effect is amazing.

Martir, thank you, looks great. Is your trim/banding also Shoji White?

Beverly, thank you. I’m aware of the difference. Our current roof is clay tile from Venezuela.

Starvationlake, the trim is SW Alabaster.
