Edit* I am open to a gallery wall using art. We are surrounded by marsh coastal plains. The rest of the house has a lot of windows and relatively little wall space, so this just sticks out.

You could also paint or wallpaper that right wall, to add some more interest to whatever you hang there.

I like the ideas in this photo: Art and arcitectural salvage to break up the long expanse of walls and a focal point at the end. Since your hallway is carpeted, I’m not sure I would add a runner, but it does make the walk more interesting, and would eliminate the problem of a traffic pattern appearing over time. An interesting ceiling mount light helps to break up the length, too.
