The wood species pictured looks like North American oak. Could be red oak. Is your cabinet species red or white oak? Both are open grain. Worldwide there are 300+ species of oak. Is it flat or rift/quartersawn? White oak also has a yellow/orange tone. But all the engineered flooring you see on the market is being produced in SE Asia using European and sometimes Russian oak species with closed grain and less yellow tones. That's where the match problem between wood tones in pale wood cabinets and European Oak flooring presents a finishing problem. A talented cabinet finisher can produce an acceptable for many people match. I'd bring an European Oak flooring sample to your cabinetmaker and have a frank discussion about what he can accomplish with fill color for the grain and matte clear water-based topcoat. Get samples to sign off on. Inspect the cabinets at his shop before you OK delivery.

Maybe, in the future wholesale component suppliers like Walzcraft or Conestoga will begin offering door and drawer fronts in European Oak.

its hard from a small image. I thought the cabinet section w the edge profile is a different species / than the chunkier low horizontal piece . And I would bet the cabinet is a furniture finish w something like a hand applied charcoal glaze on top of a medium cashew stain or similar. Pictures that people retrieve are good for ideas but replicating full custom finishes is a project in itself .

they call this "french glaze" over clear birch....actually a painted finish/ custom/ similar appearance.

You get to pick from what the cabinet company can produce, so start there. Even a full custom maker has samples from which to pick. You don't tell them what to use, or how to use it. You point, and say yes.

It looks possibly like hickory to me!
