Hosta K 2024 .. . . . .... ... .... . . . .

Good morning. This is more of a serious side before we have fun. What is your plan if you had to evacuate right now? Right now, you have two minutes. Go. Ok enough said. Fire Marshal Bill over and out.

Today is the letter K brought to you by whoever invented the alphabet. I am in the mood for some fur babies too. Let's have fun with a K Day!

This is true.

Got to love Jayne.

Ok show us the K Day hostas (insert fanfare)

Have a great day everyone!

before your post I thought about a sudden evacuation..it's overwhelming..I'd grab my wedding photos..

I wasn't a very smart girl scout..I carried cookies around the neighborhood..and sold less than the girl just standing by a table..

I have one K..Krossa Regal..just like with June I planted Krossa Regal everywhere..

    by the mailbox..

    my front path..

    near the living room window..

both sides of a back path..near rocks to be placed lol..

a group of 4 on view from my kitchen window..

a side view of the same 4..

there's one behind Regal Splendor..I thought they made good companions..both uprights..

    Saija..I like your Komodo Dragon..

thanks Laurie!..I've noticed you have several hostas that need a home 😂..if I rip out some weeds I have space 😜..

a question..is that Regal Splendor to the left of Krossa Regal?..looks kind of like mine..

Paula, that is a clever mom that thought of the cars! I could have used that idea with my preschoolers! They would have loved it!

Great KRs everyone……Ann, I think you may hold the record here!

Saija, love the subtle coloration and veining in King Size.Cool looking!

Beth, love that Kiwi! I had one that didn’t survive….🙁

Laurie, every year I admire your Kikutii flowers and, wow that clump of KR! How big is that??

    here is my one K:

all of us have a Krossa Regal!..

thanks mbug..I like your Kempen Red Twist..a good idea to allow space to see the legs 👍..

Yes Ann. I am sure I am not alone in that I get plants without knowing where they will go! To the left of KR is Sagae. If you are looking for Regal Splendor in your pics it will be vase shaped early in the season with a thinner creamy white edge.

Debra if you only have one K - KR is perfect. Mine is probably at or close to 8' across. I hope you left plenty of room! kikutii stops me in my tracks when it flowers. I find the colouring is spectacular in a refined way. If you ever come across it...

Thanks Mike. I do love a red leg and I drool every time I see your KRT! I really like KW & Kimba too.

    Laurie..I didn't think of Sagae..🤦‍♀️

Regal Splendor is in the last photo in my comment..in the pic it's hiding a KR..

you're not alone owning unplanted plants..I have 3 Junes staying in the garage for the winter..😜

debra..you might be right that I have the record for Krossa Regals..I know of 16..😉

Enjoying the K's, the KR & KD both strive and stand out.

Debra, try Kiwi Full Monty again. It grows well in my garden and is one of my favorites.

Knockout - this one the picture wouldn't post, I had to resize the picture.

Mike, splendid K collection! I love the red legs on Kempen Red Twist too! Old_dirt, that Komodo Dragon in the whiskey barrel looks terrific.....great way to display it.

Beth, maybe I will give KFM another try, Striptease and Hanky Panky do well......I think there are related????

one more comment===>>DH and I have talked about preparedness whenever there is a terrible force of nature that destroys everything you had ever worked for (not talking about loss of life). We are at a complete loss when we ponder this....if it's right here, right now, I woud grab his hand, and cash we may have and my cat Kibble. The boys would hid and be impossible to take or they may even be outside. Given a bit more time, we would grab the lockbox with essential records. Otherwise we are at a loss......

Paula, two minutes, YIKES! The three cats come first. I’d have to stay calm so they wouldn’t get scared and hide. And I’d try for the outside cat, too. My two bug out bags and my purse.

Living in Florida, you must have a plan, but with hurricanes I imagine that you have a little more time to load up the car.

Debra, it is a mind-boggling exercise to think of what we would take and how to get the cats.

I couldn’t help laughing at the eye poke photo. But it looks very uncomfortable and unnatural. Years later Madonna resurrected that look.

I don’t have any good K pics even though I have a Krossa Regal. I like all the ones I see here, especially when they show off their blue coloring. My Komodo Dragon is making a comeback so hopefully next year will be more photogenic.

    Ann, sixteen KRs, Wow!

Being ready and to have a plan is important. And living in Florida I have one. I do get extra time as you can watch a hurricane come at you., not a lot of fun there either. I have it down to strong box, computers and hard drives, jewelry. I also have a travel bag. Let's just hope no one ever has to bug out.

Question Does Krossa Regal keep that blue/green color all season? I think it will fit right with my collection.

Forgot to mention - I'd risk one eye - :)

My KR keeps that soft green/blue until fall when it becomes a deeper green.

My KR is under the drip line off the barn so the wax comes off (how quickly depends on rain). YMMV. Still, it’s a lovely plant and color even if not exactly blue. This is mine on July 4, and you can see where it’s losing wax
