The original tile floor we had selected had to be ripped out so lady in tile store said since we could not replace same tile that I should go with something that would compliment the basketweave with maybe a light gray since my wall tile is busy found the ash gray. Soo confused on what to do now for the main floor cause it is a huge area 200 sat of tile and I don’t want to make a mistake.
Would it be a mistake to put this ash gray. My cabinets will be white with the white/gray marble (see photo)

Shower wall and floor have not been grouted yet.
Please lmk if you think that gray tile would work if not what does everyone recommend I do

The room gets Tom’s of sunlight since there are 3 windows in the back with a tub going in front of them 2 vanities to the right with a window in between and another to the left in the water closet which is the room before the shower on the left

IMO the same marble for everything and the shower floor floor and walls drive the choice for the floor .If the shower tile is not floor rated then IMO a simple gray in the marble in a 12x24 porcelain is what I would do for the floors and not that gray marble for sure after seeing the pics Too much of any thing is just too much .

Select a gray tile with a bit of white veining in it. It will complement what is already done beautifully. If you are using marble, look at Grigio Bardiglio.

Originally we had the shower wall tile on the floor in honed hut because the installer didn’t install it correctly it started to crack and had to be ripped up. They don’t have anymore in the lot that was ordered and tile store said maybe go with something different now on the floor cause it’s going to be hard to match

I guess I could do the shower floor on the main floor but will it look too busy? It’s 200 sq ft which include the water closet under the tub vanities closet etc…

No one likes this gray floor tile for this bathroom?

I do not like the grey. Even though they may not have the same lot as the shower walls I would try another lot for the floor in the shower wall tile. It is not next to the shower walls so another lot will probably be ok as long as you are able to see the lot first OR send them a scrap piece of the shower lot and see if they can get at least close to it.

Isn’t the Grigio Bardiglio more of a dark gray like silo gray?

At this point if I can get more of the shower floor tile am I better off doing that on the main floor? Will it look ok on such a large area?
If so should I consider doing a border around the basket weave for the main floor ( waft size) or does that make it look busier
So confused and all the subs are waiting for these tiles to get installed so we can finish but I don’t want to make a wrong decision

Maybe a linen/fabric-look porcelain tile in light/med gray. Keep the floor simple and the shower as the focal point.

Make sure you use starphire low iron glass for the shower, so you get less green tint.

But the marble tile in the photo is a light gray especially the lot photo which I am having a hard time posting

What about a creamy floor tile instead of gray since you have a cream vanity. White and Cream is a very luxe combination. The white counter and shower will really pop. White towels etc.

The vanity cabinets are painted decorators white and the marble tops are white and gray definitely no cream colors in the room

In your photo, the sample door looks a warm cream next to the white marble. You could paint the walls a creamy white if cream floors appeal to you.

We have white marble shower and white marble vanity top and went with a solid mid gray matte porcelain floor tile 12x24 and it's very nice.

What about a plain white floor?

I have been trying to look for a light gray marble 12 x 24 tile since our shower is marble.
The trim and the vanity cabinets are decorators white and vanities will be on other side with less sunlight. I think the sunlight in the photo is having the vanities read cream
I was originally thinking of painting walls gray tint when my original floor tiles were the same as my shower walls but in honed.
So I guess you do not think I should do that gray tile? Which is actually light especially the other tiles in the lot

Mosaic for the bath floor sounds too busy. Too many grout lines. I would look at what you have for the shower walls and the idea that a different dye lot might still work is a good idea.

I would get some samples as someone suggested... and see just how different they are and if so maybe work together anyway.

I don't have a photo or the name of our gray tile but it is not marble, it's glazed porcelain, almost a solid color and with some texture for slippage in a matte finish.

A solid white glazed porcelain tile might be nice to set off your white marble.

To me it's a no-brainer. Use the same tile that's on the shower floor in the rest of the bathroom. It's not "too busy" it's cohesive. It's mostly white veined marble with gray squares. You want timeless, that's it.

There are LOTS of bathrooms with mosaics on the floors, and they are very nice.

No, again, I do not think it's too busy. A border will make it busy because it will stop your eye and introduces another pattern.

Ok that was my initial thought. So I guess I guess you feel strongly about just doing the basketweave along the entire floor so it will be a clean cohesive look even though I really wanted a 12 x 24 floor tile

Diana sorry but just another question. I can order the shower floor for the main floor but it will be from a different lot. If it is darker then the shower will it still be ok to do it on the entire floor?

I prefer the 12x24 tile. I would try for a light gray that diesn’t have variation or veining.

Does the wall tile come in matt finish? Even if it’s a different dye lit, I think it will be okay.

I did a gray tile in my Florida master. The matt floor looks different but if course matches because are from the same lot.

I think since your shower is vertical and will be behind glass, it will be fine.

Yes but they do not have enough from the original lot so that is why they going to get sample from the next lot

The mosaic would look nice with the shower. Thee is something just not quite right with that grey tile. Did you try looking at White Thassos or white dolomite?

Margaret, you probably need to make that decision with your own eyes when you get the sample of the new lot. It depends on just how different the tiles look. Keep in mind that they will not be butting up against each other, since you have the shower curb in between.

Not only will they not be butting up against each other, they will be on different planes, which will probably disguise any difference in color. Look at any wall corner in your house and you will see that the two adjacent walls look different even though they're the same color. You don't care because that's normal and your brain is used to it. What could be a problem, though, is if the veining is considerably different between the lots.

How will they be on different planes when they are both on the floor?

I also vote for the same shower floor tile for the space. Just make sure it’s all from the same lot and do a dry run to make sure any dominant veining or noticeable shade variations are strategically placed (so they don’t end up in a visible area).

The OP already stated that she can't get the same lot. She needs to view the new offerings and see for herself if the differences are noticeable.

I was referring to the new order being all from the same lot. Sometimes boxes from other lots are mixed in with the order. Especially with 200 sf - there will be a lot of boxes to check.

I would do the basketweave in a heartbeat--it looks just like the shower floor.

The gray tiles are way too busy and they clash with the tile on the shower walls. Ironically the small mosaics are much less busy and give a more cohesive look.

I would use the same light gray grout for the shower and main floors.

I agree with tracefloyd--same light gray grout on all flooring.
