Exterior garage conversion

Open to suggestions: Converting the 3rd car garage on the left, to a bedroom. Any ideas to make it look cohesive and not an afterthought? The 2 single car garage doors will be replaced with a double garage door. Thinking of adding window, similar in the size as the window to the right of the front door. Also to note, the brick columns with wood will be taken down. House will be painted an off white (maybe SW Alabaster), new windows, front door, double garage door, landscaping and will remove driveway in front of converted area.

Make sure you have considered any long term effects of this remodel on the value of the house. In my area a house with a 2-car garage is not as desirable as having a 3-car garage. When we were looking to buy, we didn't look at anything with less than a 3-car garage.

The image is so grainy it's hard to see the details

You'll want to keep the vines if you can.

IMO you want to keep the open pergola over the front entry

Make sure any new windows you purchase match your existing metal windows.

It will be interesting to see if the beam over the garage doors is large enough to support a double door.

No sure where you live but where I am a garge is not allowed to be living space until rebuilt to to code so really just a rip down and rebuild like an addition. It is really hard to see the house at all . The columns hold up the pergola so what are you planning to replace them with ?

First you will have to remove the driveway and decrease it's size. Landscape like the rest of the house. A window in the front and on the side. Without knowing more about the inside of your home, how the flooring will feel etc any other suggestions are w/o context.

The size of the garage has to be proportional to the number of bedrooms. If you're adding a fifth bedroom, the 3rd garage might be more valuable. If you're adding a third bedroom, probably the bedroom is more valuable.
