Mini rose id ideas ?

Found this beauty at my local Publix today. The color is very close to Quick Silver in the most precious tiny blooms. No name tag. Any ideas of popular lavender minis available?

It looks like the mini rose Lamy, part of the Parade series from Poulsen Roser:

I used to grow Lamy and it did well for several yearls. There aren't many mauve minis, so that does help to narrow it down. I seem to remember that Lamy had a slight fragrance.

Dianela, what a beautiful mini in my favorite color. We never get lovely minis like that around here. Isn't Publix just a gas station? Wow. I wonder if this mini will turn into a 6X6 foot giant like my grocery store mini when it went into the ground. I hope you are able to grow your lavender mini for years.

Windowsill, thanks for the tip. I'm checking it out. Diane

Lamy is a perfect match for the little rose I got, thank you very much. I like having an idea of the variety if I can.

Diane it was thinking of your mini that made me want to take a chance and buy this mini. I may go get another one, they are 8 dollars.

Publix is an employee owned grocery store that came out of Florida. To my great delight It has expanded and we have it here now (it is a wonderful store with a good selection of Cuban items I can’t get anywhere else around here).

That's so cute! I'm gonna check our Publix.

I agree Publix has more choices of specialty items like sauces, international items etc. Their produce section is usually nicer too.

Dianela, I totally agree. I like to know what I'm growing, too. Lamy is probably the healthiest grocery store mini I've ever grown, and it didn't get too big for me. I think I posted one of these pics before, but here's what mine looked like. I'd even sometimes get slight tan/mocha tones in the blooms, like in the second pic. It makes me want to look for a Lamy again...

Let us know how yours does. I bet it'll be so happy outside compared to my windowsill one.

Windowsill, I'd say your Lamy looks pretty darn happy--it's gorgeous. I want one. Diane

I don't remember what happened to mine. It did last a few years and then failed for reasons I can't recall. But now I want a new one!

Windowsill your Lamy did look fantastic. I love some of those mocha tones. I hope you find another one soon. I am going to try mine in a pot outside and see how it does.

Dianela , that’s so beautiful!! And often minis are 3-5 cuttings stuck in a pot , maybe when you repot it you’ll have a few !! Keep us updated.

I found one! It was literally the last rose left at the store and it was the purple one! Now how big do these things get? Should I be keeping it a pot, a raised bed, or what? It gives no information about it but 'mini rose'.

Sultry, it will get this big for you. probably bigger since you're in Florida. Heehee.

It is cute! Will you grow the four plants separately? I hope they all do well. And look at all those shiny, healthy leaves. How can I get my hands on one of these little roses? No Publix here. Diane

I just scanned the tag and it took me to a website. I believe this is a Canadian Company. There is an email so maybe they have a list of other stores for those on the West Coast. I don't think Publix is part of any West Coast Chains. I never saw it before moving to FL and this is tbe first time I've seen potted roses in there. Florida also has Piggly Wiggly stores haha, my kids thought that was so funny! Publix does have cut flowers. I wouldnt be surprised if there's an etsy seller that has these mini roses. It looks like there are two purple varieties..they both kinda look the same :/

Actually, I did some digging several days ago and this is a Poulsen rose, introduced in Denmark in 2007--it's Danish and the name is Lamy or Lamy Parade. There's more info on HMF and a few pages of pics which are gorgeous, but a google search doesn't show any retail sellers in the US, though I know there are some because US gardeners show their Lamy photos on HMF. I don't see any etsy sellers in the google listings. Sort of confusing. Diane

dianela: can you please confirm the pot from Publix bears no label indicating who grew this rose.

Sorry it was a crazy work week and I missed several posts. Rifis I did not see any info in my pots that indicated a grower for the minis. I did not scan the QR code. I have since gone back and bought two others before they died. I repotted them hopping they make it outside as I have no sunny windows.

not sure how to tell Kori from Lamy

    Vapor did you find one?

Diane I would love if these minis turned out half as good as yours
