Mine is self supporting and 6 ft or so. I wonder if she needs less fertilizer and more time. Alaska agreed with mine a bit better than Southern Oregon where stem girdlers love her. She does flower freely, but I only fertilize in Spring, like Diane does.

Sorry Kelly. No advice. All 3 of mine in 2 different gardens eventually died. I could never figure out why. Maybe too hot too wet too disease ridden Or too heavy clay. I really wanted this rose to work. I've had better luck with Felix leClerc, although he does Not climb as tall.

Kelly, sorry to hear you aren't getting any blooms. We don't fertilize at all and ours has been a non-stop bloomer this year. Also got it as a band from High Country Roses 2 years ago (6/24). It was one of my earliest bloomers in the spring and even through our summer of 100F it has still been pumping out the blooms. I'd say stop fertilizing it and see if the situation improves. It may be getting too much of what it needs for growth instead of blooms.

This photo was in June of this year and it has been growing and blooming non-stop this summer.

In terms of eventual size I'm curious about that myself. It has grown much faster than anything else I've put in and is rapidly catching up to my largest and tallest roses. I'm very pleased with it since climbers generally haven't behaved as climbers for me and act like short bushes.

Here Victorian Memory is on the right. Just to the left of it is Fred Loads, my tallest rose. The left of that is Winnipeg Parks which has gotten very large across. At the far left is Candy Land which has finally taken off this year but is getting wider, not taller.

Thank you all for the responses! I fertilize in spring and again just recently as I thought maybe that would help. She’s healthy and growing fine so maybe she just needs more time…it’s been very dry here too so that could be playing a role….
