Hosta Q 2024 **************

last year

Good morning. I am here this morning with a heavy heart. During the last two days the eaglets have passed. It is believed that they had eaten something tainted with pest poison. Thank you.

We are on to Q's today. The Queens.

Good question

Yes, so sad. It really makes you wonder.

Very nice old_dirt. I finally got QJ last year to remind me of Josephine but no pic.

Callie. Queen of all she surveys.

very sad about the eaglets 😢..
old_dirt..we use the same method..we've never used poisons..we don't have many mice..if we need to we use a spring trap..my husband built a wooden box that has a small opening to protect animals from the trap..we used to bury them but tried leaving them out and it works..we assume the hawks, owls, fox or raccoons take them..
    Laurie..Callie is cute 🙂..no Q's for me..
I saw this yesterday and took a screenshot..I thought "this could be something that Paula might show us"..
    I thought "I can relate to this"..😂

So, if I understand the last paragraph, you want me to go out and egg and tp someone's house? And video tape it. Well, ok I am always up for the challenge!

Paula..lol!!!..I wouldn't want you to be arrested for vandalism so just use any toilet paper and eggs that you buy at home 👍..

it's interesting to me that these 2 items are expensive and special now and most people wouldn't waste them..

I was never involved in a Halloween prank doing this but I've seen it..

My heart is heavy hearing about the eaglets……😞😞😞……. Will mom and dad create a new egg or two? Or have they left now?

I don’t have any qs. Josephine faded away faded away. Here’s a front yard done by the owner.

Years ago, getting tped meant someone liked you. But we used our parents tp to do the job. I never did as my throw is 2 feet in front of me.

Sorry to hear about the eaglets. It’s a vulnerable stage, but add in dangers that shouldn’t be there, and it’s hard to survive out there. So sad.

Here’s the best pic I could get of a bald eagle flying over a lake I was visiting in October.

A wild ferret showed up and took care of my rat problem a few years back. Since then we have a combo of neighbor’s cats and stray cats that frequent my yard along with foxes. No more rat problems.

Laurie, Callie is a beauty with that big smile on her face. 😊

Ann, that’s pretty funny these days!

Paula, I’m glad you’re not going to waste those precious eggs, and don’t we all try to keep a little extra TP around these days? That pic reminds me of the Wigwam Motel on Rt. 66.

I’m not sure if my Queen Josephine survives, but I hope to find out this coming season.

Here are my Q’s for the day. The neighborhood quails. They are such a good family unit.

Crossing the street first, watching for any dangers, is the quail daddy.

Then the tiny babies hurl themselves off the curb to follow. They're so small at this point.

Mom follows up in the rear making sure each and every one of the babies crosses safely.

It’s a wonder those tiny ones can get back up the curb on the other side. I once had to help one reunite with its family when it couldn’t make the jump. These all made it.
