Can you attach a pic of the slab? I have never thought of black soapstone as cool, but maybe there is something about your counter that is cool looking.

I think warm cabinets and black soapstone are a great look together.

FWIW when i picked counters I tried to think about what had staying power - I really didn’t want to walk down one morning and say ”what was i thinking?” I ended up w/ the most boring quartzite on the lot but still love it 14 yrs later - I can’t ever imagine regretting soapstone, it’s classic and lux, I think you’ll love it forever

Soapstone looks great with warm white cabinets, and that Shiloh color is still quite bright and white and not too creamy or taupey. Please don't do quartz.
