looks like the door could use a freshening up regardless of any changes.

Do you need a screen door for ventilation? maybe just a different style screen door?

Have you considered removing the screen door trim and re trimming out the other windows to add some interest?

a photo of the front of the house will better show the style you are working with...

How about painting the alcove and adding a rug? 4x8?

The front door is your home’s handshake, it sets the tone before anyone steps inside. If you want quick impact, start with contrast and layering. A bold door color (deep navy, sage, charcoal, or even brick red) instantly adds personality. Flank it with planters or topiaries for symmetry, and choose hardware or lighting that ties into your home’s architectural style, black matte for modern, aged brass for classic, brushed nickel for transitional. Seasonal wreaths or minimal decor (like a clean “welcome” plaque or textured doormat) can make the entry feel curated without clutter. Don’t forget lighting temperature, warm white around 2700K makes the entrance glow invitingly at night.
