Hosta T 2024 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

last year

As you know I live in Florida and the weather man keep talking of a possible freeze still for Florida, but they do not know when. I am not in the mood to hear that. Anyway, the winter clean-up has started and once again the invite is there for the 'ilovetogrow springtime training camp'. Nature really messed up my year this year.

Let's see T hostas today:

I wonder which you will be singing for the rest of the day!

Have a great day everyone!

I remember most of those jingles. I wonder if today's adds produce jingles we will remember?

    Thunderbolt

    Time in a Bottle

    Touch of Class

    Tracy’s Emerald Cup

    Twilight

    Twin Cities

I remember almost all of those great jingles!..

    Beth..to me today's ads aren't as fun..

    I always liked "where's the beef?"..😂

    3 T's..Tiny Tears..

Tokudama Aureonebulosa (I think lol)..the middle clump..left side..has a baby coming up next to it..

Twilight..I know where it is!..by the curb in front..no picture..mine is more grayish blue than Beth's..

  • last year

I remember all the jingles except "If you dare wear short shorts". I do remember the original song from back in the 50's and will probably be going through my head for a while.

    Just a couple T's here.

    Touch Of Class

Twilight - Not a favorite of mine, gets real crappy mid season.

old_dirt..I bought Twilight because the tag said "a large hosta"..I have big trees and I like big plants..I think the tag exaggerated..mine gets good light and it's not that big..

Well since I woke up and had a cup of Folgers.....OMG Paula that little girl. Hmm the squares, if I count the sq. within a sq. within a square I get 14.

Beth there is something about TEC that gets me every time. I do appreciate a good green.

    ig really beautiful.

Ann TT is so darn cute. It would be a shame to lose that beauty. You could just take a sharp knife/shovel and sever the variegated eye.

old_dirt that is a shame because it looks great earl season.

    Teaspoon

The King. I worried I would lose all the Forget-me-nots when I mulched, I needn't have.

    Tickle Me Pink

    Touch of Class

Tropical Dancer with 3 Blue Elf.

Laurie..I'll add Tokudama Aureonebulosa to my ever growing "need to divide" list..lol..

mbug..I remember that clever Timex jingle 👍..

Saija at first I thought your Teaspoon was sporting until I enlarged and saw it was the sun was playing tricks lol!

Loving all the Tea at Bettys & Tootie May.

Mike Trendsetter is terrific. I was surprised to see a modest size considering it's lineage.

  • last year

I remember most of those jingles too……how about, ”give it to Mikey, he won’t eat anything!” (Life cereal).

Beth, great hostas, but what is your secret for Time In A Bottle? I have had that one die on me almost immediately 3 times.

igg, your Tokudama F is beautiful! Great color.

Ann, TT is so cute! Your Tokudama is sporting it looks like. would separate it as Laurie mentioned.

Laurie, so many good ones! Always love Teaspoon and I love the leaf on Tropical Dancer.

Saija, love your Tea At Betty’s! I am a sucker for a rippled leaf!

Mike, you have such perfect looking hostas. I love the leaf veins that Razor’s Edge has.

debra..I remember Mikey!..so you have a reverting hosta too..do we all have them?..I like Tequila Sunrise..

  • last year

Laurie, Trendsetter is pretty new so we will see how it comes back.

  • last year

Debra it is a shame TWB reverted but it still looks good. Your Teaspoon is really growing well! I am so glad you got it.

Ann I constantly remove non streaked eyes from Powder Keg.

Mike I am sure it will do great in your care! I had to look up Trendsetter in the HL and considering it came out of Niagara Falls X Empress Wu the 39" width is what surprised me.

  • last year

Laurie, I should just buy a TWB. I been separating the leaves over the years, but they keep reverting.

Debra, time in the bottle is pretty new in my garden so hopefully it continues. Currently it is in sun during the hottest part of the day, from about 1 till 5. I lost a tree so plants are adjusting.

  • last year

Good luck Beth….the ones I bought from rep vendor just deteriorated from the get go. They replaced, but by the third time I just let it go.

Peren.all, you know your Teaspoon photo belongs in the Hosta Library, right? And so does that Tick Tock, mbug! I am impressed with those Tootie Mae's. Unfortunately, I lost one. It grew slow for me.

Regarding the Timex watches--my dad once found one at the edge of the road after a long winter. And it still worked! Wow!

Regarding Twilight, I too was experiencing crappy looking leaves mid season. I wrote about it and Bruce Banyai had an interesting viewpoint. Here is the link to that post:

Now about that square, peren.all says 14. I have counted 12. My husband says 11(?). This will be a serious discussion at the dinner table this evening!

    A few photos:

Titanium. Not looking that great. It could be it suffered from the torrential rains we got.

Touch of Class. Heuchera needs dividing. But it is a nice color combination, so I will probably put a piece of it back there again.

Touch of Class (one is not enough!)

Igg, your T F is great!

  • last year

Thank you! It languished for years until I finally decided to dig it up and move it. Bought as two tiny little eyes from Van Wade years ago, it has become one of the best performers I have.

I was admiring your Tootie Mae, and hoping mine begins to look like that (Sandyslopes as well!)

  • last year

peren is correct. There is 14. 12 in the drawing and 2 in the sentence. lol

  • last year

What????? Peren.all you are very smart!
