We don't know what area of the home we're viewing.

How does one photo relate to the other?

@BeverlyFLADeziner Sorry about that! The larger window on the white wall is along the staircase up to the second floor. The green wall the landing that connects the first and second floor. I’ve attached another image to provide more visual context. I’m primarily looking for suggestions regarding curtain lengths and fabrics for the two windows. Hope this helps!

If I am reading your pictures correctly, I would not add drapes to either window. If you have too much glare from the sun coming in, maybe add a shade.

^ agree, natural woven shades would bring some nice texture to the space

If you feel a need to add color, a runner on the steps would give you the decor your craving for.

No curtains.

First thought none. What is the reason for the window covering? We needd some info post it here in a comment DO NOT start another post

What do you have on other windows in open areas of your home?

Depends on your needs (privacy, just filtering, your style and budget). Suggest a simple inner-mount rattan blind or a roman blind, that can be left half way open. If needing privacy at night, but want light during the day, consider a remote blind on the large window and a similar blind on the other but wouldn't need remote.

If looking to add interest to staircase, remove the small pots and rug and add a narrow bench, create a nice vignette.

Do you have achandelier in this stairwell ? If so lets see it. The little stuff on the window ledge makes no sense .

Hi Everyone,
Thank you for your messages! Sounds like we’re all in agreement with going with shades rather than curtains. I was leaning in that direction myself, so I’m happy to get confirmation😁.

@Maureen, I loved your suggestion of adding a small bench to add vignette. I’m not sure how often it will be used, I was thinking that maybe as an alternative I can add a slim corner shelf? However, I like the idea of the bench adding more visual interest along the length of the landing rather than the height.

@Patricia Colwell Consulting I would like a window covering for visual interest, removing glare, and privacy. I would love something that allows some light into the space while still providing privacy at night.
There is no chandelier or main light fixture and we are not currently looking to install one. Thank you for your questions!

The bench would be solely decorative. Another idea is adding a lamp with a timer on a narrow accessorized console.
