My vision is terrible and I need a bright, well lit space. This apartment only has ceiling lights in the kitchen, bathrooms, and near the front door. I need to figure out a way to light the bedrooms and living space at night so that I'm not stumbling around in the dark turning on 20 lamps.

Any bright ideas aside from littering the rooms with cheap torchiere lights from Amazon that my dog might knock over?

- Ceilings are at least 15 ft high - can't imagine how I'll hang plug in swags up there

- Cannot hardwire anything

- Don't want to spend stupid amounts of money - only living here for a year!

(We're temporarily and suddenly moving for a year to be near my mom who has cancer. We have a dog, need level entry, and it's February. We are lucky to even find this odd, pie shaped, poorly lit place.)
