An idea is to swap the kitchen and library. Move the powder room to space from the coat closet and the frig space. Expand the sunroom to include the old P.Room space to be available for breakfast duties.

Thank you Dan, will think about that suggestion! We were trying not to make too many changes but indeed if we have the kitchen in the current library room , it will be ideal as the living room adjacent to it is bigger than the music room and has the chimney

those are formal rooms on the left ..or so it appears. I'd leave the kitchen on the right side..it appears the pedestrian entry with groceries etc is on the right. I would plot a couple things on paper and pursue possibilities..... 1. carve a new CL from the top left corner of music room. entrance to Cl will be opposite Up stair position. 2. the current CL becomes part of a new kitchen 3. remove wall between mudroom and breakfast room ......4. enhance the rear entrance from ?driveway? or back patio? with large sliding door or dbl french doors on that rear wall. . 5. with 27 feet in length make a kitchen with your various zones. you can have large island// banquette/ / keeping space......about anything . You can have an enhanced entry/exit to the rear part of the property / now close to the kitchen [do you have a yard] this creates something that is lacking and gives better outdoor entertainment/ recreation options..

how about a nice long kitchen with destination seating and togetherness instead of tiniest breakfast room tucked at the base of a staircase.

Thanks Herbflavor! I like your idea as you ate right that thinking more about this, the kitchen needs to stay on right side, it will be better especially entrance drom the back is ok the right side too with mudroom etc…
I was wondering where to put the closet.. thanks for the idea. I agree that in this case the kitchen will be rectangular, longer but that could still be nice

Also , what would do with the rest of the music room ( outside of the new closet) ? In you idea, it will be part of the kitchen ?
