Countertop pop up electric receptacles in kitchen

Looking for recent experience with popup electrical receptacles in a kitchen countertop. Brand you have, likes/dislikes. Our kitchen sink is effectively on a bit of a peninsula w/o upper cabinets or a wall/backsplash, and code requires electrical outlets no further than 2 ft from the sink. We’ve exhausted any ideas to put in surrounding cabinets with what we have going on. That plus we can get close but not w/in 2 ft. It seems that a countertop popup receptacle may be the answer, and looking for brands that perform well - or to avoid if problematic.

I believe that the requirement for a receptacle on a peninsula or island is no longer required by the latest national codes, the requirement was removed. Your local code may vary. Receptacles on the sides or back of a peninsula or island to to serve that countertop are no longer allowed. I believe the rule then becomes "as close as practicable" for the distance between the attached end of the peninsula and the sink.

It’s about distance from the sink - a requirement to have something close enuf to the sink. Our electrician is the one citing the code but we can double check with the county. Would assume he knows the codes.

NEC is used in the U.S., local codes do not amend much of NEC but if they did it wouldn't pertain to this. You need outlets every 4', crossing the sink included. The peninsula situation will depend on which year of code is adopted (2017, 2020, 2023).

Picture of sink area per request is attached. I’ve been told code is that an outlet needs to be w/in 2 ft of both sides of the sink. I’m going to assume the code interpretation is accurate for the moment; my question was about experience with different brands of countertop pop up electrical receptacles. Thanks.

That picture is so confusing to me. Your sink is sitting out in the open between the island and the wall? Or has the island not been put in place yet?

Is there room on either end of the sink cabinet to do a filler piece with an outlet? Like this, in my island:

Potentially on one side of the sink but not the other given cabinet/dishwasher placement.

Thanks cafleter. So far so good. They are angled when they pop up; I have one with the outlets facing the sink, and one facing the other direction. I'm not there now or I would show you the outlets open.
