thank you for replying! There is no window at all. I can send more pictures later today when I get back home. The camera view is from the doorway with each of the vanity cabinets touching the wall if that helps.

I could see going dark with the walls (maybe painting the vanities) and changing out the towel bars, mirrors, lighting and faucets to something simpler & more architectural would go a long way -

New wall and ceiling paint, hardware, faucets, towel bars, lighting, and mirrors will really change the look of this room. I'd find a piece of art you love and take your color and style cues from there, then hang it on the shower wall next to the right vanity. It may make you like your shower more too!

I'm all about a moodly bathroom so I can see going dark in here. Painting the walls, ceiling, and trim the same dark grey or blue/black color.

If this were mine, I would purchase a poster reproduction of van Gogh sunflowers and use the colors of that to select a pale background. The sunflowers will cheer you up on those dreary mornings.

Vanity light fixtures should point downward not upward. You want to light the mirror and sink, not the ceiling.

Paint the vanities. Use an MCM wallpaper.

That molding at the top of the shower makes it look very dated. Could that be removed with an added simple top put back on? I agree painting and artwork will add a bunch of positive vibes. You'll have to determine the color...many people prefer white walls with towels and other accents adding additional color. I'd say pick some artwork that can withstand the humidity of the bathroom and let its color palette dictate paint scheme. Swapping out mirrors, lighting, towel racks for a more modern look will help too.

Oh my gosh your home looks so fun and adventurous! I agree with other comments on updating lighting, mirrors, faucets and vanity knobs. Then revisit room color using these below as inspiration. I think the paint color should exude the warmth that is seen in the rest of your home. It will be lovely.

If you love wallpaper, choose that first and then paint the vanities to work with it. I have painted the vanities of two bathrooms and (as was mentioned) they hold up well if done properly. This bathroom can be adorable.

Second idea, paint the walls, and vanities, one of the colors of your stunning ceramics. You’ve got some great greens that look MCM to me.

Oh wow, you have an actual aesthetic of your own! What a rare delight on Houzz. Forget my suggestion to take a cue from a piece of art. You can clearly pull together your own look in a much more eclectic fashion.

For you, I'd start with lighting. You have a great eye for lighting. The chandeliers in your space are perfection. Find vanity lighting that really makes your heart sing. It will be the sculptural eye candy of your bathroom. Here are two random suggestions, but I'm sure you can find what you love.

Two large round mirrors above the vanities will help take the focus away from the super angular shower walls. Use your light fixtures as a cue for how to mix and match on the mirror finish. You can certainly pull off the light and mirror not needing to be the same finish. I'm sure you'll make a cool mix.

I'd either use towels the color of your sofa - super grounding and beautiful. Or go for multicolored towels evocative of your ceramics and book wall.

My original thinking was to go for color on the walls in here. But maybe a grounding, rich taupe is the way to go. Let the light fixtures and textiles be the stars of the show. I'd also select a simple metal finish for the pulls. Nothing with shine. Black doesn't feel right.

Is there a story to the flamenco ceramic dancers? They are great.

Here's a look with the vanities painted green with black knobs, new black vanity lights and round mirrors, and other black accessories. You can replace the undermount sinks with rectangular vessel sinks (in a size to cover the hole in the countertop). You can use all dark green bath towels or mix them with white ones. Buy a nice piece of art that you like to coordinate with the colour scheme.

Thank you so much for the advice. I do love color as you probably figured out. The flamenco dancers are actually cookie jars and they are huge! They were made by Fiestaware table company as is most of my collection. They no longer make them and they came in 9 colors. If you can find them out in the wild they are now quite valuable. And they are as beautiful on the back as they are on the front. Thank you again for all your time and help!

Everyone I know who is redecorating their bathrooms are building showers just like yours. I am not handy at all but I painted my kids bathroom cabinets and they came out great! I would update lighting and fixtures and add some minimal decor; maybe some nice shelving and rolled towels and some tall greenery or other plants. Down the line you can probably tile that shower and still leave it the corner style and have no door. It’s not a bad bathroom at all. I can’t tell the color of the cabinets if they are that yellowy wood which we finally got rid of-otherwise they’re not bad. I wish you could post a pic of the bathroom and get a bunch of ideas for decor bc that’s what I am currently trying to do. Good luck!
