Are there any bright and attractive flush-mount kitchen lights?

I'd love some suggestions for a kitchen light to go with our 3 rattan pendant lights. The angle of the photo doesn't really show adequately the distance between the counter and the peninsula ceiling. We're going for a coastal look.

We have concrete, low ceilings (8') so can't do recessed lighting. I've searched Amazon, Wayfair and Houzz but haven't found anything with good ratings that looks nice.

The second photo below shows the "before" of our kitchen. The left wall has been removed, as well as the board on the right hand side (leftover of a "shelving unit"). The kitchen drawer pulls will be satin nickel, stainless steel appliances (not the ones pictured). The cabinets are an off-white shaker style.

Hang as flushmount. Reminds me of drift wood. Wayfair.

Nothing special but extremely practical.

"close to ceiling " or " semi flush" might yield something. a good local lighting center has their searching possibilities from your armchair at home....w lots of filters for size materials price lumens etc. ..then you order from the local shop and get any of their sales discounts etc. I've been doing this lately as we've had a few fixtures to upgrade. You dont have to go in and sit w their catalogues at a table.......theyve put it all on their website. I like it.

@herbflavor (I like your name!) We have very limited options where we’re located (on an island) and I’ve pretty much given up on finding anything local. I can however order from Amazon, Home Depot or possibly Wayfair without having to pay huge shipping costs.

I would not use a rattan fixture so close to a cooking area. Not a durable material for grease and steam. Do you mind having brass on your fixutre even though the hardware is satin nickle? Brass feels more in line with your rattan pendants.

World Market - has a rattan feel to it.

I'm unclear. where are the pendants going and where the flush that you need?
