Last second- Help us pick another kitchen countertop

last year

We should have done a reality mini-series on our small condo remodel - the stuff that nightmares are made of.... Everything from several contractors flaking out to the wrong color kitchen cabinets being delivered a few days ago (and the correct color not being available for some of the bathroom pieces for weeks). The most stressful call came last night, two days before kitchen install: The Quartz countertop that we picked out 2 months ago has somehow "disappeared" from the warehouse and only non-matching pieces (different colors and patterns of the same quartz) are available. Yes, we're working with a locally owned, large supplier of cabinets, quartz and granite but we're on an island so everything takes forever to arrive unless it's in stock.

Kitchen cabinet install is going to start tomorrow because otherwise I have to cancel our flooring install and won't be able to get on their schedule again for weeks. I'm going to call around to other quartz suppliers in the morning to see what they might have available.

My question: What other color countertop would work best in a small space with off-white shaker cabinets, milky green backsplash, light color wood flooring, satin nickel finishes? A light color or a darker color?

This photo shows the countertop we had originally selected and that turns out not to be available.

We're going for a relaxed, coastal look. The countertop we had selected reminds me of sand on the beach. The backsplash of the water.
