I agree with a tall plant and no sconce unless you think that you need the light.

Remove the over the toilet storage please? , please? There's other more attractive storage. I am not sure what you are going for here, but right now.........it's a mish mash style visual confusion all around. Sorry. Take a picture without distortion? What is the size of the room? Ceiling height?

No to the plant..., NO to the sconce and pendant mix - one or the other. The mirror looks absurdly small, it may be the distortion in the picture. It appears impossible to even sit on the potty. I question the reality of the entire photo with a toilet jammed up against a wall - appearing to not even meet code.

It would be nice to see a less distorted photo, but looks like the cabinet is overwhelming the space. I would remove it and then decide on a better mirror size (taller). Since it's a powder room, perhaps after mirror is settled, could have two thin shelves above toilet with a basket for toilet paper and small decor. Maybe re-evaluate the lighting needed, the sconce and pendant don't look right. What is the overhead light in the room? Perhaps that can be changed to a semi-flush light that better suits the space.

Even minus distortion, the lighting and cabinet, and pedestal style and deco mirror are all in conflict.

The pic it totally distorted and honestly that cabinet is all wrong the mirror too and the pendant not good and the sconce no way. IMO stop now remove that monster cabinet the pendanyt and take a picture with a simple lens on the phone or whatever you are using and ten come back with that in a comment. PRs are a great place to have fun and really minimal need for storgae and wallpepr is also a great idea .

No sconce. That's just a really weird placement. Lighting's primary function is to light, not be an art sculpture. ANd it doesn't light anything properly. At all.

No sconce. The cabinet is overwhelming. I would not do a tree/plant there either, allow a little room to breathe. Plus I' assuming you'll have a towel ring somewhere? I hate to say this but the wall color doesn't seem right to me either, just a mush with the floor color. Sorry. I think the pendant could be ok if raised.

Will agree with other posters that the wall mounted storage cabinet should go. Will suggest that you replace the pedestal sink with a vanity that has storage. Will also suggest a ceiling mounted fixture centered in the room. If you need additional light will suggest a downlight over the sink instead of a pendant or sconce.

I will share a better picture once mirror is up and bath hardware is installed.
Flooring will be updated in a future phase and there is a potential for the powder room to be converted to a full bath - cabinetry will be assessed in that phase.

I agree that there are differing styles in here. Your lights are modern but the rest is traditional. You could color drench in here for now to make the whole feel more modern -- paint storage cabinet, trim and door the same color as the walls. That would give it a fresh feel until you get to the next phase.

So you have a room that has issues with the current selections and you're just going to continue to compound the problems? That is not spending money wisely.

I would take down the wall cabinet and select a wall hung vanity that FITS THE SPACE

Quick update - I was able to get the electrician to swap the pendant light with the flush mount pictured above and am super happy with the results - more light and looks really nice. Bathroom hardware /mirror is yet to be installed and will share improved picture.

Wall cabinet will remain for now. I will get it repainted or removed in a future project when floors will also be changed. Thanks all for your ideas that helped improve the look.
