Custom cutting board?

I redid my tiny kitchen 11 years ago with the help of then-GardenWeb. I've lurked here ever since, especially through a whole house remodel and addition in 2020-21. All these years I've been meaning to find a nice cutting board that would fit snug over my sink so that it could function like a workstation. At the time of our remodel I remember seeing some recommendations for custom cutting boards on Etsy, but those links are now lost. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you!!

Cheap and easy: buy a cutting board about half the size of your sink, screw button feet (hardware store) into the bottom, feet positioned just inside the edges of the sink when the board is laid on the sink. The feet stop the board from moving around, and you can also use the board on the counter with the feet.

Just search custom cutting boards with google or otherwise. You will get many options. It might be nice to find a woodworker near you. I'd be surprised if someone you find couldn't do what you want.

I have looked at them but not purchased one yet. I liked these styles because they allow you to push trimmings into a container or the sink, or the kind that slides forward so you can use the faucet.

Etsy craftspersons come and go. I would bet you will find new ones there to fit your need. DH was approached by a man at church who knows his skills. But like you this person has an idea but thus far--a year later he hasn't come up with the measurements.....

Much cheaper to just buy a 4' section of butcherblock counter and either just lay the whole thing over it, or use the sink template and a jig saw to cut it to size. Then router the edges and sand and finish.

In the K we did for our pied a terre, the sink mfr offered this. Does your sink mfr?

I also found someone on Etsy to cut a piece of butcher block to replace a granite counter in my armoire/bar. I looked up my order and he is in Canada, no idea why I chose him but I was happy with the product.

I found a guy that makes custom furniture. In his inbetween-jobs-free-time, he puts together scrap wood and makes cutting boards. One-of-a-kind...a google search turned him up....he still does custom orders.....

....with the thin red lines, like mine has....only mine is 24x14.5x1.25" thick....the price is EXCELLENT....and the board is beautiful! Take a look, click on the word link:Link

$100..if you need a bigger size, just ask. The price isn't that much more.

Rachiele, that's brilliant, especially the grid for rinsing. It takes up less cabinet space than the basket I'm currently using. Does the grid fit in the dishwasher? What is material is the cutting board?

@gardener123 Everything fits in the dishwasher, and all pieces are dishwasher safe. The cutting boards are made of the exact material that inspectors must see as countertops in butcher shops. High-density, high-molecular-weight HDPE ). They are NSF listed and approved by the FDA and are made in the U.S.A.
