How much shock if root cleanup occurs when semi-dormant

last modified: 2 months ago

Received a JM grown from a southerly area of the states.

Received delivery last week

I've had it in the garage since we're in this polar vortex....

Looks like the following end of this weeks forecast will be mid 40s, with lows at 32-33F.......

This weekend, the high was like 22F or the like.

Right now , the JM is not dormant. All buds show a small sign of leaf out.

I do intend to cut a root or 2 depending if there are any circulars.......before planting.

Obviously it would be nicer now than if it when it leaf out more in my garage....to prune the root

I think I'm closer to 2 more weeks before I can plant it and not have late frost freeze zap the young buds.

Whaddya say. If I end up cutting a root, it will be fine- just set it back for 1 growing season right ?
