Master bath re-design

last year
last modified: last year

I am attaching a floorplan of our current master bath layout. It has the separate vanity area. My idea is to take down the wall (and door) between the vanity area and main bath area and enclose the whole thing, move the walk in closet door to within the bedroom (if necessary). I want to have a walk in shower, dual vanity and soaking tub. Do you see any way to possible enclose the toilet?? Any other layout ideas? I would also make the windows bigger and maybe add another on the wall where the toilet is. Wall dimensions are fairly accurate, the sizes of the items in the bathroom is not! I am planning to remove all the furr downs, soffits

etc.

Where EXACTLY is the walk in closet on the drawing, where exactly is the bedroom and how big and it's dimensions.

Go back, do "exactly" and add the surrounding /missing elements. So nobody, very helpfully.....wastes their time : )

The ENTIRE suite please, walls, windows and their placement in the walls as well. Feet and inches, thank you. accurately, all

The walk in closet is on the right side of the first pic - see the door - and represented in the drawing the actual bedroom is 17’x14’ I can add window dimensions that are above the bath but I want to re-do the windows - its just 3 tall rectangles which you can see one in the pic with the bath they are each 9” wide by 43” tall

It will really help if you add the bedroom and closet to the drawing you have. Show where the doorways are and the dimensions of each. If you add the rest of the items that Jan has requested, she will be able to come up with a great layout for you (you should see some of the bathroom layouts that she has changed and how much better they function - same with kitchens).

Are there any fixtures that you are not willing to have moved? Example, can the toilet be moved which will require the drain/pipe being moved also?

I am going to re-do my drawing tomorrow! i didn’t have time tonight i appreciate the feedback already and yes I am fine with moving fixtures i know it will cost $$ but hopefully not have to completely change everything

I added a drawing which shows the master bedroom and closet. There is a door opening to our patio and the one into the room sorry I could not orient it right but you get the idea. Also there is a second smaller master closet where that door is in the corner.

I will tell you , your wish list is way too big:...DOESN'T justify a 100 k remodel to get too small everything crammed You are missing all the exact locales....but this is waht makes a decent everything. No tub, unless you pick another poison, Lose the windows over the tub., get a decent shower

Interesting! so you’d ditch the tub and have a big shower

Decide what you NEED. If you want a linen closet? Shorten the vanity to 84", and have 18" x 21 or 24 to the ceiling of linen with a door or do open shelving if you like.

You can do a HALF WALL/42 at the potty, or full to ceiling...I'd stick at 42 x 36 for light.....

Jan this is GREAT!! I am so grateful! I was in my bathroom before you posted the secodn sketch thinking some kind of cabinet under that window would be nice and you had the same thought otherwise its a pretty big empty space This definitely puts me on the right track

If you mean under the large window ?

That is a towel bar . : ) you don't need a "cabinet". Your vanity has grown in length. You don't need a knee knocker in front of the toilet

If you want more storage? Shorten the vanity to 84 inches and have a linen closet/cabinet match
