Appalachian vs Wickham floorboards

Hi, I'm looking to buy engineered hardwood from one of these two companies. There's not much info online regarding the quality of these two brands. Though I did come across some posts that Appalachian scratches & dents easily. Just wondering if anyone can provide their experience using either of these brands. Thanks.

Wickham is Canadian and uses domestic species. Those have open grain that turns dark when stained. And their price just went up by 25%. Appalachian is the same. European Oak is currently popular because it has tighter closed grain and it won't oxidize yellow after 5 years.

Flat cut to show the structure without the dark grain.

Appalachian does the best job of finishing without darkening the grain.

It'll still yellow over time.
