Need to see pictures of the rest of the room to get a better sense of the whole space and your style. If you’re going to do a full reno, probably best to wait on new furniture. In general, the console table should be wider than TV. Remove the fake plants— they are literally scaring me! 😱

I agree with Caroline - the plants make ears for the TV & it’s really distracting.😁 Without seeing the rest of the room - it’d be great to have a cabinet that fills the space better & at least is wider than TV. I don’t think lighting in the alcove would do anything to enhance the TV viewing experience - so, no to lighting.

Thanks. I am terrible at making decisions and those plants will go. When we hang the tv it will look more in line (barely) with the tv to pass. Thanks for the comments. I just need to do something temporarily. Couch faces tv. Front door to left.

A console as wide as the alcove. Hang the TV and then assess. I don't think you will need anything on the wall. Another option might be to paint the wall black so the TV blends in
