Why are you selecting beaded siding for this Georgian Home? I would not use that on this home. I would select a nice wide siding to contrast the brick pattern.

Colonial white, same trim and an almost black door. It's not "boring".......and a big landscaping project: )

Your bronze light fixtures are not very visible against the business of the brick. I'd paint the door a black ore color to match the fixtures and make them more a part of the scheme. (SW iron ore?) I'd consider all of your trim and siding iron ore or black-ish too.

Find a program, or a great person on Houzz who can do a color mock up for you.

With all the white windows, I would go light for the siding - the siding is also coming off the dormer?

(LOVE the green but would also want the windows green like the inspo pics)

Kendrah - in a word, MONEY 😛 I happen to like the contrasting materials anyway. I see your point about the bronze. I considered the same fixtures in brass - would that be better?

La-la, yes all the siding will be replaced with new. If we painted trim green we could only do the window sashes as the grids are internal (and full window replacement is not in budget)

Would you consider painting the brick?

Norwood, I’m not an anti-brick-painter like some on here :) but I like the brick enough to keep it. It really is quite pretty to me with all the color variance.

Thanks milworkman. The siding we’re using is 6.5 inches and you think 8” is that much better? Is it the size or the style of the siding that makes the most difference. I included a pic of the siding above (obviously horizontal application - I was just trying to get the color next to brick).

Beverly, that’s the exact inspiration pic for the green. But my husband thinks the pink/green combo reads more whimsical versus stately home. So perhaps we’ll go towards the more classic white/cream color.

I wasn't suggesting green for your siding. I should have clarified. I was trying to get you to abandon the beaded siding. This is not a Low Country house. That siding was originally used on those homes. The scale of your siding is important.

Thanks all. So do you know any vinyl products that are 8” and similar to clap board (or whatever it’s called - it’s apparent I don’t speak building materials 😀)? Hardie plank is not in budget.

Here is a post from Young House Love about siding color decisions for their reddish pink brick house. They chose a putty color, not too brown and not too grey. There are lots of pics on this post contrasting it to the creamy white they first had. I think it looks much better with a deeper grounding color than with white.

Your brick has more white than theirs, but still, I'd try some colors similar to this. I think it could have more of the stately look your husband likes. I do think white tends to disappear and look a bit vacant, like you for got to finish a whole side of your house.

Most all the major vinyl companies make it. Visit a real local lumberyard or roofing and siding supply house. Stay out of the bix stores.

UPDATE 5/20/25: thank you all for your helpful comments. We ultimately went with CertainTeed’s Certa Plank in color herringbone. I’m so glad I listened to your advice in getting wider/flatter plank (though it was much more $$). Now we just need to paint the front and entry doors. I’m still leaning towards a dark tone: black, charcoal, deep navy.
