Need opinions selecting roof color

I unfortunately need to replace my roof. My roofer wants to put on Owens Corning Duration shingles. I’ve narrowed it for to Driftwood, Peppercorn, and Teak (photos in this order). In selecting a color, I’m also keeping in mind I’d eventually like to get new green siding, so I’m looking for it to look good with either yellow or green. I used Owens Corning virtual tool to put each roof option on my home. Please let me know what you think would be best. Poll options are in same order as photos.

I like the more solid color shingles too. There aren’t any options with the type of shingles the roofer wants to install. How do I ask for different options without sacrificing what he considers a quality shingle?

We can't really see the roof colors I would look for one that is not variegated colors. A medium gray.

^A medium gray can be a good choice…appealing and neutral. Also agree with more solid colored shingles vs variegated.

Driftwood IMO is easier to live with long term

I would paint the siding a deeper color.

The house needs a LANDSCAPING PLAN!!!

Winter isn’t great for my landscaping for sure. I’m trying to keep it simple so I can maintain it. The bushes at the left look nice when they have leaves, and I plant annuals at the right. I’m sure something better can be figured out.

Take samples of your options and put them next to your brick siding--different times of day and lighting. I wouldn't trust the mock ups, because computer screens are not going to show you the true colors.

Driftwood. Have the roofer actually layout a bundle of shingles on YOUR roof. Use the visualizer and sample boards to narrow it down only.

Less varigated for sure and so much depends on the color of the siding you want . I need to see the green you are planning but I agree to test the chices with the brick for sure

I have put shingles next to my brick at different times of day and light. All three of these look good. I’ve also seen houses with these on, and still having trouble choosing. I talked to my roofer. He said to look at the Oakridge line for more uniform color, but then I’m taking a step down in quality, and it doesn’t have the nail strip, or whatever it is. He doesn’t like GAF and said Malarkey isn’t worth the price, and that companies are moving towards to variegated shingles. I will look at the Oakridge, but I’d really like help deciding between the three I presented. It seems so far Driftwood is the favorite. As far as the green siding, I have no plans for a specific color or timeline. It’s going to be yellow for the foreseeable future.

Yes, in my area (New England) I see most houses have variegated shingles & IMO most look terrible. Just because a company makes something doesn't mean it looks good. lol. My thoughts on the variegated is it hides all the junk from the better than solid colors. They wouldn't be selling Oakridge if it wasn't a good shingle. Don't forget contractors aren't designers so don't really care how everything works together

I found out Owens Corning has a service where you send info to them, and they’ll recommend shingles colors. They brought up black sable as a recommendation. It was in the artisan line which I hadn’t been looking at. I decided on that color. It’s dark but a cooler brown than the Teak. This is what it will look like.
