Kitchen trim damage

Thoughts on how to fix this? Had kitchen remodel done & contractor installed 3k panels on freezer/refrigerator to left of this corner. He then opened it up and damaged the door apparently forgetting about the trim to the right of it. He decided to cut the trim then left it like this, and says this trim has been discontinued and its our problem now.

Thoughts on how to fix this eye sore?

My bathroom has a similar chair rail on top of beadboard. I had an area that needed to be eased a bit (softened)...so my contractor sanded it a bit and painted it. That's what I would recommend. Probably can't see it in this photo.....I hate how HOUZZ photos don't enlarge bigger. It's joke.

It's your problem now?? I don't think so. Have the damaged panels been fixed/replaced?

@dani_m08 we have been mediating for 2 years trying to get panels that are not warped, damaged, etc. Cabinets (Ultracraft) were garbage and we clearly got the B install team from this kitchen design studio in CT. Worst part was the way the designer handled it (or didn’t). The replacements are supposed to be shipped to us finally in the next few weeks, with a small check towards install with a new contractor.

Are you near Cincy Ohio? I know of a finish repair company....you'll never see the repair. they are truly unbelievable!

The company that I use is basically a Furniture and Antique restoration company. I'm sure you have those in CT too! Here's one. You need to find out if they can do color match touch ups on painted product. The Ohio company typically costs $100-$200 for a touch up. Which isn't bad considering the panels are thousands $ and the labor adds even more.

Very easy fix, you can find this trim, and when someone repairs it, ask them to add a return on both, the ledge piece and the trim flush with the corner it will add more detail and a nice finish, something like this

Take photos of the trim and go to your local lumber supply warehouse, not big box store.

I’m not able to write the words I’m calling this guy but we will leave it at lazy. Yes go to the local real hardware stores. My shop has their two usual moulding vendors and a couple backups. But worst case I could run this up with a router and a table saw on hobbiest level tools- he’s just being lazy ‘not my job’

Yes @HALLETT & Co. and @chispa as they mentioned, will be better if you take the molding out it's only a few pieces just gently pry them out (have to replace them anyway) and bring it with you they will match something up for you.
