Glue down is far easier to replace a damaged plank. It's why it's used in commercial and retail locations. Your prep still needs to be stellar, with no humps and bumps and FLAT to 3/16" in 10'.

For a SFR homeowner use case, I would suggest you go with click LVP. Will meet most of your needs and you won't have to worry about floor prep etc. Glue down VCT is great for commercial spaces with heavy traffic. Additionally you can get lovely warm finishes for a home space with LVP.

Either floor type needs floor prep. My local trusted flooring contractor has not been happy with click lock over time. Too many call backs. He’s old school and likes customers happy in the long run.

I agree that click locks have had issues, some of it is product but there are better brands out there and some of it is poor installation as well. Also agree that glue down is the soundest solution if budget permits.
