Weekend Music (FNM): Construction

last year

We have started renovations in our house, and while that's a good problem to have, it's been challenging these past couple of weeks working through the noise and dust. So I need some music.....post your favorite songs mentioning, either in the title or band name, anything in the home that can be renovated - walls, floors, windows, etc.; tools to do it with -- hammers, nails, drills, paint, etc.; or the noise it all makes -- bang, boom, etc.

It's a broad category and I'm not going to police you because I'm cutting out early and going to sit by the pool with a drink!!!! TGIF....

^Simultaneous postings of the same song count if it's a good one -- ha -- and that one is. And it reminded me of this one:

First song that came to my mind:

Palais Schaumburg: "Wir bauen eine neue Stadt" ("We are building a new city" 1981

featured on the Deutschland Compilation LP, part of Neue Deutsche Welle

letters, What goes up the chimney? Smoke

”My Mother had a old saying when she and someone would say the same word at the sametime. I cant remember it, I can only remember they would grab pinkies and that she would say what goes up a chimney and the other person would say smoke.”

Elmer and I now have to make a wish! That’s according to my dear old mother-in-law.🤷‍♀️

One of my favorite songs to dance to in the 1990s.

lars, I don't think I've ever known of anyone to have more eclectic music knowledge and preferences as you have.

I always look forward to your contributions in this weekly event. I don't prefer the pure EDM stuff (which reminds me of my younger years, what got played in European discos and other boîtes in general) but some of what seems to be intentionally bizarre or intended to shock that you've posted is something else.

Thanks for the past and in advance for the future. You make this thread always interesting.

^Absolutely agree. I make sure I take the time to listen to the songs he posts, always curious to see what he comes up with next - love that he has something I’ve never heard of for every topic!
