I don't believe they should match. your headboard is fabric, so a painted wood piece forone, and natural wood finish for the other.

I'd choose a bedside table large enough that can hold a lamp, and anything else required for a restful space. Height level with the top of the mattress.

a drawer to stash a book, lotion, notepad, etc.

Do you need a lot of drawer space for folded clothing? adding a mirror?

I like wall mounted night tables with platform beds since tey allow some adjustment to height a bit of storage too and with the heating a great idea. Since the bed is upholstered I would proably look for matching dresser and night tables . I amnot getting much idea of your style but the bedding really could use an upgrade I like coverlets on platform beds instead of duvets I usually just fold a blanket at the foot for added warmth and the coverlet tucked in , We have no idea of your style so only gussing about that. I went to you idea books so this is my way of doing the bed not the actual prints or colors but like this . I do iromn my sheets too but the fact is those beds really look best when very tailored bedding is used
